    • Diamondbacks recall Cristian Mena from Triple-A
Diamondbacks recalled RHP Cristian Mena from Triple-A Reno.

Advice: The 21-year-old right-hander will be thrown right into the fire, making his big-league debut on Wednesday night against the Dodgers. Mena registered a 4.90 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and an 89/38 K/BB ratio over 82 2/3 innings in 16 starts at Triple-A Reno. He’s certainly not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes. • Justin Verlander playing catch every other day
Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters on Wednesday that Justin Verlander (neck) is now playing catch every other day.

Advice: There’s still no timeline on a potential return to the Astros’ rotation, but it’s encouraging to hear that the 41-year-old hurler is ramping back up. He’ll probably require a rehab start or two before he’s ultimately ready to return. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back prior to the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 2:24 pm
    • Back with Brewers
The Brewers recalled Junk from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Advice: Since his last appearance in the majors May 5, Junk has posted a 1.17 ERA and 1.24 WHIP alongside a 19:5 K:BB across 15.1 innings in Triple-A. He'll now be called upon to add depth to Milwaukee's bullpen as Enoli Paredes (forearm) heads to the injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 2:24 pm
    • Lands on injured list
The Brewers placed Paredes on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right forearm tendinitis.

Advice: Paredes has been effective in middle relief for the Brewers this season, posting a 1.08 ERA in 16.2 innings. However, he allowed a hit and two walks in just one-third of an inning during his latest outing Tuesday and appears to have come away from the appearance with an injury. As a result, he'll now be forced to sit out at least through the All-Star break. Janson Junk will come up from Triple-A Nashville to fill the opening in Milwaukee's bullpen. • Cody Bradford (back) resumes throwing off mound
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Cody Bradford (back) has resumed throwing off of a mound.

Advice: Bochy also noted that when Bradford is ready to return that he’ll be utilized as a reliever instead of a starter. That’s because with the return of Max Scherzer and with Jacob deGrom and Tyler Mahle working their way back, the rotation outlook looks very muddled. From a fantasy perspective, it’s hard to envision Bradford making much of an impact upon his return if he’s not pitching out of the rotation. Rotoworld Today, 2:16 pm

    • Brewers recall Janson Junk from Triple-A
Brewers recalled RHP Janson Junk from Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Junk will get another chance to work out of the big-league bullpen with Enoli Paredes (forearm) heading to the injured list. The 28-year-old hurler has appeared in just three games for the Brewers this season, posting a 9.00 ERA, 2.80 WHIP and a 3/1 K/BB ratio over five innings of work. Rotoworld Today, 2:10 pm
    • Brewers place Enoli Paredes (forearm) on 15-day IL
Brewers placed RHP Enoli Paredes on the 15-day injured list with right forearm tendinitis.

Advice: The severity of the injury — and how much time Paredes may stand to miss — are not yet known. It’s a big blow to the Brewers’ bullpen though as Paredes has been outstanding this season, posting a 1.08 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 12/8 K/BB ratio over 16 2/3 innings. Janson Junk was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move to take his place in the Brewers’ bullpen. Rotoworld Today, 2:09 pm
    • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Twins transferred Stewart (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Advice: The right-hander has been on the shelf with shoulder tendinitis since early May, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline. Stewart has progressed to facing live batters this week and could soon begin a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Today, 1:53 pm

    • Twins transfer Brock Stewart to 60-day IL
Twins transferred RHP Brock Stewart to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: There haven’t been any setbacks in the 32-year-old hurler’s recovery from shoulder tendinitis, this was merely done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster for the promotion of Brooks Lee on Wednesday. Stewart is tentatively scheduled to rejoin the Twins’ bullpen before the end of July. Rotoworld Today, 1:42 pm
