    • Chris Bassitt deals with neck spasms during start
The Blue Jays said Chris Bassitt was pulled after five innings Monday because of neck spasms.

Advice: It was an issue before the game, and the Jays had set up a contingency plan in case Bassitt couldn’t go. Bassitt wound up pitching five scoreless innings for a win over the White Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:08 pm

    • George Springer homers in victory over White Sox
George Springer went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer on Monday, leading the Blue Jays to a 5-1 victory over the White Sox.

Advice: Springer set the tone early for Toronto with a second-inning blast off White Sox rookie Nick Nastrini. It was just his fourth round-tripper of the season and first time he’s gone deep since April 24. It’s been a down season offensively for the 34-year-old veteran as he holds a lackluster .570 OPS through 47 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:56 pm

    • Davis Schneider goes deep in win over White Sox
Davis Schneider slugged a two-run homer on Monday in the Blue Jays’ win over the White Sox.

Advice: Schneider supplied a pair of insurance runs for Toronto with a ninth-inning blast off veteran reliever John Brebbia. It was his fifth round-tripper of the season and first time he’s left the yard since back on May 17. The 25-year-old has emerged as Toronto’s primary leadoff option over the last few weeks, which makes him fantasy-relevant for managers in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:55 pm

    • Chris Bassitt strikes out seven to beat White Sox
Chris Bassitt recorded seven strikeouts over five shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox.

Advice: Bassitt looked really sharp in his second consecutive outing against Chicago, scattering five hits and needing just 81 pitches (52 strikes) to complete five frames in this one. He generated 11 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 35 percent CSW. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.03 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 56/25 K/BB ratio across 60 1/3 innings (11 starts) into a home matchup on Sunday against the Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:54 pm

    • Roughed up in loss
Criswell (2-2) took the loss Monday against Baltimore, yielding seven runs (six earned) on six hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Criswell didn't allow a home run, but he gave up four doubles and a triple in his worst outing of the season thus far. The 27-year-old had not allowed more than three earned runs in any appearance before Monday, and his ERA ballooned from 2.86 to 3.96 as a result. The right-hander's two strikeouts Monday represented his lowest tally since April 18, and he will look to improve on that number in his next scheduled start, tentatively slated for this weekend against Detroit. • Cooper Criswell hit hard in loss to Orioles
Cooper Criswell was torched for seven runs (six earned) over four innings on Monday in a loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Criswell served up six hits with extra-base hits from Jordan Westburg, Kyle Stowers and Cedric Mullins accounting for the majority of the damage against him. The 27-year-old righty has proved to be a viable temporary stopgap for the Red Sox, allowing three earned runs or fewer in eight of nine starts this season in the big leagues, but he might be a better fit as a swingman as opposed to a traditional starter in the long run. He’ll aim to rebound on Saturday when he faces the Tigers at Fenway Park. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:41 pm

    • Justin Turner on the bench again
Justin Turner is on the bench for Monday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: Turner got a day off on Sunday, but he remains out of the lineup on Monday with Daniel Vogelbach starting at designated hitter again. The 39-year-old is slashing just .222/.301/.359 in 173 plate appearances in 2024 with four home runs and 18 RBI. It’s possible that the Blue Jays will look to get at-bats for other players in his place, and fantasy managers can certainly look to do the same with a hot bat on the waiver wire. • Austin Riley back in the lineup on Monday
Austin Riley (side) is back in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Nationals.

Advice: Riley missed 13 straight games with a side injury, but the Braves opted not to put him on the IL. With Ronald Acuna Jr. now out for the season, the Braves are certainly ecstatic to bring Riley back into the fold. Riley is hitting second in the lineup without Acuna there, as Ozzie Albies hits lead-off. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:18 am

    • Logs steal in Sunday's win
Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Gimenez had a couple of hitless games last week, but he went 5-for-15 with five RBI and was plunked three times over the last four games. The second baseman is up to eight steals on 11 attempts this season, with Sunday's steal being his first since May 17. He's added a .270/.333/.383 slash line with four home runs, 32 RBI and 31 runs scored over 50 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:13 am
