    • Jose Altuve diagnosed with left hand contusion
The Astros got good news after Friday night’s victory over the Twins as the X-rays on the injured left hand of Jose Altuve came back negative for any fractures.

Advice: Altuve was diagnosed with a left hand contusion and is considered day-to-day. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a day off on Saturday to be on the safe side, but the 34-year-old infielder shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:50 pm

    • Fills stat sheet in loss
Garcia went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in a 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Cardinals on Friday.

Advice: Garcia hit an RBI single in the first inning, a solo home run in the third and another single in the eighth. He later added another base hit and stole second in the 10th frame. The 24-year-old followed up a two-homer game July 3 with his second four-hit effort of the season. While he continues to sit against left-handed pitching, Garcia is hitting .271 with 10 homers, 42 RBI, 29 runs scored and 12 steals in a quietly productive 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:29 pm
    • Jose Altuve (hand) leaves game after hit by pitch
Jose Altuve was removed from Friday night’s battle against the Twins after being hit by a pitch on his left hand.

Advice: Altuve was clipped by a 94.3 mph sinker from Josh Winder. The 34-year-old superstar second baseman was grimacing and looked to be in obvious pain on the field. He’ll head for X-rays to see if he’s dealing with any fractures. The Astros should have an update on his status after that imaging is complete. In the meantime, all fantasy managers can do is wait and hope for the best. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:00 pm

    • Colt Keith’s first multi-homer game powers Tigers
Colt Keith homered twice and drove in three runs on Friday night, powering the Tigers to a 5-4 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati.

Advice: It’s the first multi-homer game of the 22-year-old rookie’s big-league career. Keith obliterated a 413-foot (104.2 mph EV) solo shot off of Carson Spiers in the third inning that extended the Tigers’ lead to 2-0. He furthered that advantage with a 415-foot (108.8 mph EV) two-run bomb in the fifth inning that made it 4-0. Keith has picked up the pace offensively in recent weeks and is now hitting .240/.285/.361 with seven homers and 28 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:55 pm

    • Ozzie Albies with three hits, homer in loss
Ozzie Albies went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored on Friday against the Phillies.

Advice: Albies was part of every Braves’ scoring play in this one as he came around to score on both Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna’s home runs while contributing a solo shot of his own. He’s begun heating up of late and is riding an eight-game hitting streak. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:49 pm

    • Homers, scores three runs
Albies went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored in Friday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Albies singled and scored in the fourth and eighth innings, sandwiched around his solo shot in the sixth. He snapped a 12-game homerless drought and delivered his first three-hit effort since June 13. Since the start of June, Albies has gone 31-for-128 (.242) with 18 runs scored in 31 games. His season slash line is sitting at .263/.318/.413 with 32 extra-base hits this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:46 pm

    • Exits after HBP
Altuve was removed from Friday's game against the Twins after getting by a pitch, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Altuve took a 94 mph sinker off his left hand/wrist during the eighth inning of Friday's contest and was taken out of the game after conferring with a trainer. He'll presumably undergo imaging in the clubhouse, and the Astros should offer an update on his status after the game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:40 pm

    • Spencer Steer goes deep in Friday’s loss to Tigers
Spencer Steer went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI on Friday night as the Reds fell to the Tigers in the opening game of their three-game weekend series.

Advice: Steer got the Reds on the board in the fifth inning with a mammoth 425-foot (106.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Reese Olson. He also plated a run with an RBI single off of Jason Foley in the ninth inning and scored on Nick Martini’s RBI triple. With his two-hit attack, the dynamic 26-year-old is now slashing .242/.334/.427 with 12 homers, 56 RBI and 13 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:37 pm

    • Luis García Jr. with four hits, home run
Luis García Jr. went 4-for-5 with a homer, two RBI, a run scored, a stolen base, and was caught stealing on Friday against the Cardinals.

Advice: García was a menace in this one. He had three of the Nationals’ six hardest hit balls and hit four over 99 MPH himself. He now has six hits, three homers, four runs scored, and six RBI over his last two games. A hot streak could be on the way. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm
