    • Reaches three times in win
Happ went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Friday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: A day after going 4-for-4 at the plate, Happ remained hot. The outfielder also has eight RBI over the last two games, bringing his season total to 52. He had a career-high 84 RBI last year, and he could make a run at that total in 2024, particularly if he maintains his recent level of production for a longer stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 6:19 am

    • Homers in second straight game
Steer went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Steer got the Reds on the board with a fifth-inning solo shot and later singled in a run in the ninth. It was the second straight game with a home run for Steer, who has 12 for the season and leads Cincinnati with 56 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 6:14 am

    • Goes yard in win
Vargas went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-5 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Vargas has two multi-hit efforts over nine games since he was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on June 17. In that span, he's gone 9-for-22 (.409) with four RBI. The 24-year-old is slashing .333/.396/.571 with two homers, eight RBI, nine runs scored, four doubles and a stolen base over 48 plate appearances this season. Vargas could see an uptick in playing time due to Jason Heyward (knee) landing on the injured list, which could force Teoscar Hernandez to play right field on a full-time basis in the short term. • Doyle hits go-ahead two-run double against Royals
Brenton Doyle hit a go-ahead two-run double to give the Rockies a 4-2 win over the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Doyle turned a 2-2 game into a 4-2 lead with the Rockies with a ground-rule double that scored Aaron Schunk and Ryan McMahon and ultimately gave Colorado the victory. After being one of the worst offensive players in baseball in 2024, Doyle has shocked with a very useable slash of .274/.335/.436, and his .731 OPS is quite the improvement on his .593 mark in 2023. • Michael Lorenzen combines on shutout of Rays
Michael Lorenzen pitched around five walks to shut out the Rays for five innings in the Rangers’ 3-0 victory Friday.

Advice: Lorenzen surrendered just one hit, a double off the bat of Brandon Lowe. It wound up being a three-hit shutout for the Rangers’ pitching staff, with José Leclerc, Jacob Latz, David Robertson and Kirby Yates combining to finish the effort. Lorenzen is now 5-4 with a 3.21 ERA. It will be interesting to see if the Rangers choose to move him with Tyler Mahle, Cody Bradford and Jacob deGrom all seemingly on the way back. • Homers off bench in loss
Grichuk hit a two-run home run in Friday's 10-8 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Grichuk put Arizona ahead with his ninth-inning blast after pinch hitting for Ketel Marte (back). This was Grichuk's first homer since June 11, and he hit a paltry .194 over the 14 games between long balls. For the season, the outfielder has a .292/.347/.462 slash line, three homers, 20 RBI, 17 runs scored, 11 doubles and one triple across 144 plate appearances. He continues to fill a short-side platoon role in the outfield. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:06 pm
    • Pops 10th homer
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Royals.

Advice: Toglia has been in the midst of a slump, as he entered Friday's game having collected only three hits across 19 at-bats in his last six matchups. He ended that with a solo home run in the third inning, his 10th long ball of the campaign. Toglia has shown an all-or-nothing approach at the plate this season, as he has a 32.3 percent strikeout rate paired with a .245 ISO in 158 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:02 pm

    • Jurickson Profar ties game with solo blast in 9th
Jurickson Profar hit a game-tying homer in the ninth to help the Padres to a victory on Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Profar tied the game at 8-8 with a homer off Paul Sewald in the bottom of the ninth. The 31-year-old continues to impress in his breakout campaign with a .316/.409/.490 slash along with 13 homers and 57 RBI. Just like we all expected. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:59 pm
    • Randal Grichuk hits go-ahead homer, but D-Backs fall
Randal Grichuk hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Grichuk was almost the hero Friday, as his two-run blast off Robert Suarez gave the Diamondbacks an 8-7 lead in the ninth inning. Unfortunately for the D-Backs and those who roster Paul Sewald, it wasn’t meant to be. Grichuk has been a strong option off the bench/against lefties for Arizona in 2024 with a .294/.347/.462 slash, three homers and 20 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:59 pm
