      Advice: Vargas has two multi-hit efforts over nine games since he was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on June 17. In that span, he's gone 9-for-22 (.409) with four RBI. The 24-year-old is slashing .333/.396/.571 with two homers, eight RBI, nine runs scored, four doubles and a stolen base over 48 plate appearances this season. Vargas could see an uptick in playing time due to Jason Heyward (knee) landing on the injured list, which could force Teoscar Hernandez to play right field on a full-time basis in the short term.       Michael Lorenzen pitched around five walks to shut out the Rays for five innings in the Rangers’ 3-0 victory Friday.

      Advice: Lorenzen surrendered just one hit, a double off the bat of Brandon Lowe. It wound up being a three-hit shutout for the Rangers’ pitching staff, with José Leclerc, Jacob Latz, David Robertson and Kirby Yates combining to finish the effort. Lorenzen is now 5-4 with a 3.21 ERA. It will be interesting to see if the Rangers choose to move him with Tyler Mahle, Cody Bradford and Jacob deGrom all seemingly on the way back.       Advice: Grichuk put Arizona ahead with his ninth-inning blast after pinch hitting for Ketel Marte (back). This was Grichuk's first homer since June 11, and he hit a paltry .194 over the 14 games between long balls. For the season, the outfielder has a .292/.347/.462 slash line, three homers, 20 RBI, 17 runs scored, 11 doubles and one triple across 144 plate appearances.
