      Isiah Kiner-Falefa said he underwent an MRI after feeling something in his left knee while stretching prior to Monday’s game.

      Advice: This doesn’t sound good. Kiner-Falefa, who is putting together a terrific season as a super-utilityman, was a last-minute scratch before the game today. If he lands on the injured list, it’ll probably mean more regular playing time for Davis Schneider and a longer look for Addison Barger. Rotoworld Today, 3:18 pm

    • Hunter Brown goes six scoreless to defeat Jays
      Hunter Brown tossed six scoreless frames, allowing only two hits, Monday as the Astros defeated the Blue Jays 3-1.

      Advice: The Jays had a chance in the second, when Brown gave up a single and walked two to load the bases with one out, but Ernie Clement and Kevin Kiermaier failed to bring home any runners. Other than that, Brown kept the Toronto bats very quiet on Canada Day. He’s won five straight starts, allowing a total of one run in the process.     • Josh Hader records 13th save after allowing homer
      Josh Hader picked up his 13th save despite giving up a homer in the ninth Monday against the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Ernie Clement took him deep. That’s two homers allowed by Hader in his last three games and six on the season. Still, his ERA has fallen steadily these last couple of months; he has a 2.40 ERA and a 49/7 K/BB ratio in 30 innings since Apr. 17. Rotoworld Today, 3:15 pm
       
    • Yariel Rodríguez holds Astros to one run in loss
      Yariel Rodríguez limited the Astros to one run and two hits over 6 2/3 innings in a tough loss Monday.

      Advice: Apart from one bad curveball deposited into the stands by Jeremy Peña, Rodríguez was exceptional today, generating 13 missed swings and six strikeouts while needed just 83 pitches to get 20 outs. We’d still suggest shying away from Rodríguez in shallow leagues, especially in light of his workload concerns, but he could be a sleeper next year when he’s presumably under fewer restrictions.       After being stuck on five for six weeks, Jeremy Peña finally hit his sixth homer Monday in the win over the Blue Jays.

      Daulton Varsho went hitless in a seventh consecutive start Monday, finishing 0-for-3 with a walk against the Astros.

      Advice: Varsho did get a hit off the bench Saturday, but he’s 1-for-28 with 13 strikeouts since June 19, dropping his average to .197. There’s too much homer and steal potential here to make Varsho droppable in fantasy leagues, but it’s tempting.       Kiner-Falefa is awaiting results of an MRI on his left knee, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

      Advice: Kiner-Falefa was a late scratch from Monday's lineup against the Astros after feeling something in his knee while stretching pregame. Ernie Clement was in the lineup for the Blue Jays on Monday at third base, where Kiner-Falefa has been seeing most of his playing time.       Rodriguez (0-3) took the loss Monday versus Houston, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: The 27-year-old rookie pocketed his first career quality start in his longest outing of the season. Rodriguez generated 13 whiffs out of his 83 pitches to produce six punchouts. The Toronto right-hander's ERA now stands at 4.63 across 23.1 innings with 23:13 K:BB. With this performance, Rodriguez is likely to draw another start over Bowden Francis.
