Cole Ragans allows three earned runs in loss
Cole Ragans allowed nine hits and three earned runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Twins.
Advice: Ragans ran into trouble in the first inning when he allowed back-to-back hits to his first two batters faced, only to see both players score on a Jose Miranda single a few batters later. Ragans would allow another run in the fourth on a Manuel Margot double, as the left was hit around for much of the evening. His nine hits allowed tied for the second-most he’s allowed on the season, as Ragans has struggled at times to limit base runners despite a solid 3.49 ERA. He walked 30 batters while walking eight this month and is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Padres.
