    • CES has three hits in win over Phillies
Christian Encarnacion-Strand went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: It was a much-needed big game for CES, who raised his triple slash to .216/.220/.352 on the season. His hardest hit ball of the day was a 100 mph lineout, but he also had a single and a double that were each over 93.5 mph. It’s not lighting up a radar gun, but it’s nice to see him making consistent hard contact. The impressive depth that the Reds had at the start of the season is now gone due to injury, so he should have a long enough leash to work through his early season struggles. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago
    • José Ramírez homers, Guardians roll past Red Sox
José Ramírez walloped a solo homer on Tuesday, powering the Guardians to a 4-1 victory over the Red Sox.

Advice: Ramírez doubled Cleveland’s lead with an eighth-inning solo shot off Red Sox reliever Cam Booser. It was his fourth round-tripper of the season. He’s started to heat up over the last few contests, recording at least one hit in seven of his last eight games since April 14, and also has a pair of big flies during that span. • Sits versus southpaw
Outman is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Washington, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Outman has started just once against a left-handed pitcher this season, so it's not a surprise he's on the bench Tuesday as southpaw Patrick Corbin pitches for the Nationals. Andy Pages will shift to center field while Enrique Hernandez and Teoscar Hernandez handle the corner outfield spots. Rotowire.com Today, 12:48 pm

    • Reinstated, in lineup Tuesday
The Red Sox reinstated O'Neill (concussion) from the 7-day injured list, and he's batting third as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Guardians, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: The veteran outfielder will end up missing only the seven-day minimum after suffering a concussion in a collision with Rafael Devers (knee) last week. O'Neill has been one of the best hitters in baseball early in 2024 with seven homers and a 1.209 OPS in 61 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 12:03 pm

    • Red Sox activate Tyler O’Neill for Tuesday return
Red Sox activated OF Tyler O’Neill from the 7-day injured list.

Advice: Good news for the 28-year-old, who was targeting a Tuesday return and stayed on schedule. O’Neill should provide Boston an offensive spark in the middle of the lineup as he boasts a .313 batting average through 15 games played this season. Rotoworld Today, 11:59 am

    • Produces quality start
Kikuchi (2-1) yielded two runs on five hits over six innings Monday, striking out four and earning a win over the Royals.

Advice: Kikuchi cruised through five shutout frames before serving up a two-run shot to Maikel Garcia in the sixth inning. Kikuchi has now turned in three straight quality starts and has not allowed more than three runs in any outing this season. After a career year in 2023, the veteran southpaw has registered a terrific 2.28 ERA and 33:8 K:BB through five starts in 2024. Kikuchi is in line for a tough home matchup with the Dodgers this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm
    • Yusei Kikuchi limits Royals to two runs in victory
Yusei Kikuchi was charged with two runs over six innings on Monday in a win over the Royals.

Advice: Kikuchi carried a shutout into the sixth inning before coughing up a two-run shot to Royals leadoff man Maikel Garcia, which accounted for the only damage against him in this one. He piled up four strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass in this one. The 32-year-old southpaw is putting together one of the best stretches of his career, allowing two earned runs or fewer in each of his last four starts, while also completing six frames in three of those outings. He’ll carry a pristine 2.28 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 33/8 K/BB ratio across 27 2/3 innings (five starts) into a challenging home outing on Saturday against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:16 pm
    • Sitting out Monday
Walker is out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Walker has now started just four of the Cardinals' last eight contests while he's produced a .164/.238/.273 slash line to begin the season. Lars Nootbaar will slide over to right field Monday while Alec Burleson receives a start in left as Walker retreats to the bench. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:55 pm

    • Rays officially place Pete Fairbanks on IL
Rays placed RHP Pete Fairbanks on the 15-day injured list due to a nerve-related condition.

Advice: Fairbanks was unavailable over the weekend at Yankee Stadium due to a stomach illness, but now the Rays will have to make due for a while. Fairbanks has previously dealt with Reynaud’s syndrome, though it’s unclear if he’s dealing with the same symptoms now. Jason Adam would be the presumed favorite for save chances, though the Rays are no strangers to mixing it up. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:21 pm
