    • Smacks homer Wednesday
Renfroe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a 4-2 win over the White Sox in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Advice: Renfroe went 0-for-3 with one RBI in the nightcap as well. The veteran outfielder is still holding onto a starting role in right field, but he's struggling at the plate in 2024. Renfroe is batting .176 with two homers, eight RBI, six runs scored and two doubles over 56 plate appearances. Nelson Velazquez has occasionally moved from designated hitter to right when Renfroe rests, and Adam Frazier could be an option there as well once Michael Massey (back) is activated from the injured list. • Hits go-ahead homer in Game 1
Perez (groin) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 4-2 win over the White Sox in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Advice: Perez returned from a Grade 1 left groin strain Wednesday and delivered the key hit in the Royals' matinee win. He also went 0-for-2 with two walks in the nightcap while serving as the designated hitter. He appears good to go moving forward after the injury scare. The veteran catcher is off to a hot start with five homers, 17 RBI, nine runs scored and two doubles while slashing .324/.370/.574 over 18 contests this season. • Rare day off Thursday
Arozarena is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Angels.

Advice: Arozarena will get just his second day off this season while he's stuck in a 2-for-23 rut at the plate that has dropped his slash line to .174/.240/.275 for the season. While Arozarena rests, Harold Ramirez will pick up a start in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:57 am
    • Power surge continues Wednesday
Ozuna went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Astros.

Advice: The veteran slugger got Atlanta on the board in the second inning, leading off the frame by crushing a J.P. France sweeper 432 feet to left field. Ozuna is tied with Mike Trout for the MLB lead with eight homers, and Wednesday's blast extended his hitting streak to 16 games -- a stretch in which he's slashed .379/.431/.788 with 13 runs and 23 RBI, in addition to all eight long balls. • Stays aggressive on basepaths
Arozarena went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base Wednesday against the Angels.

Advice: Arozarena hasn't had a good start at the plate, as he's hitting just .174 with two home runs across 75 plate appearances. When he has gotten on base, however, he's taken advantage as he's managed four stolen bases without being caught. Arozarena is also striking out at a fairly typical 25.3 percent clip, so there's not a significant reason to panic about his performance yet. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:34 pm
    • Salvador Perez clobbers go-ahead homer in return
Salvador Perez walloped a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning to power the Royals to a 4-2 victory over the White Sox in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Kansas City’s captain clobbered a no-doubter to left field off White Sox burgeoning relief ace Michael Kopech in the eighth inning to put the Royals ahead for good in the opening contest of Wednesday’s twin bill. It’s an even more impressive feat considering the 33-year-old veteran backstop is playing through a Grade 1 left groin strain that he suffered earlier this week. He’s off to a remarkable start at the plate so far, posting a .953 OPS with nine runs scored, five homers and 17 RBI through 17 contests. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:48 pm

    • Used before ninth inning Tuesday
Munoz recorded his third hold in a win over the Reds on Tuesday, firing 1.1 scoreless innings during which he allowed a hit and a walk while recording three strikeouts.

Advice: Munoz relieved Logan Gilbert with two outs in the seventh inning and a man on, and after issuing a walk to Elly De La Cruz, he surrendered a hit to Nick Martini but was bailed out when De La Cruz was thrown out at third base on a stellar outfield assist by Julio Rodriguez. Munoz was exponentially more effective in the eighth inning while recording swinging strikeouts against all three batters he faced to preserve Seattle's 3-1 lead, and he then saw Ryne Stanek entrusted with the ninth inning until Stanek worked himself into trouble and was bailed out by Tayler Saucedo. The Mariners' closer role therefore appears to be somewhat in flux, but Munoz has four straight scoreless appearances during which he's picked up his most recent save, a win and back-to-back holds. • In Wednesday's lineup
Perez (groin) will start at catcher and bat cleanup Wednesday in the first game of a doubleheader with the White Sox.

Advice: Perez missed Monday's 2-0 win after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 left groin strain and had been slated to sit out Tuesday's contest before it was rained out. However, with another day of rest, Perez is back behind the plate for the afternoon game. Freddy Fermin will surely catch the second game Wednesday, but it's possible Perez could play first base or serve as the designated hitter in the nightcap. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:10 am

    • Hits not falling
Diaz went 0-for-4 with a walk Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Diaz is hitting only .197 across 78 plate appearances this season, and he's failed to record a hit in five of his last 10 games. However, he's remained installed as the Rays' leadoff hitter and has struck out only 16.7 percent of the time so far this year, so there's reason to believe his results will even out over time.
