    • Bryan Reynolds extends hitting streak to 23 games
Bryan Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 23 consecutive games on Wednesday in the Pirates’ victory over the Reds.

Advice: Reynolds officially owns the longest hit streak of the 2024 campaign after a first-inning single on Wednesday afternoon against Reds starter Graham Ashcraft. It was his lone hit in five at-bats, but the fact that he got it out of the way right out of the gate took all of the drama out of this one. The 29-year-old outfielder is in the midst of a stellar stetch at the dish, batting .323 (40-for-124) with seven homers and one steal over his last 30 games. Rotoworld Today, 1:43 pm

    • Takes seat after poor game Tuesday
Torres is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Mets.

Advice: For the second game in a row, Torres was held hitless Tuesday in the Yankees' 9-7 loss, leaving him in a 2-for-29 slump at the dish over his last nine games. To make matters worse, Torres committed an error at second base and also didn't run out a grounder at full speed in the eighth inning, with the latter play not escaping manager Aaron Boone's attention, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Boone indicated that Torres is doing OK physically, but the skipper thought a day on the bench could be beneficial for the 27-year-old while he's in the midst of a rough patch. Oswaldo Cabrera will pick up the start at second base in place of Torres. Rotowire.com Today, 1:16 pm

    • Gleyber Torres (groin) absent from lineup
Gleyber Torres, who complained of groin tightness after Tuesday’s game, is out of Wednesday’s lineup.

Advice: Torres was criticized for missing a grounder and not hustling to first last night, though the groin seemed to explain the latter and Aaron Boone seemed more concerned about the former. Oswaldo Cabrera is playing second base tonight. Rotoworld Today, 1:01 pm

    • Getting afternoon off
Gelof is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Gelof will miss out on a start for the first time since June 16, when he was on the bench for the front end of a doubleheader with the Twins. While Gelof receives a breather, Armando Alvarez will be rewarded with a second straight start in the Oakland infield after banging out three hits in his first MLB start in Tuesday's 7-5 loss. • Swats homer Tuesday
Soto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and two walks in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.

Advice: Soto plated the Yankees' first run with his solo shot in the fifth inning, though the Mets had already built a big lead by that time. The long ball was the first extra-base hit over the outfielder's past eight games, and he's batted an uncharacteristically poor .160 (4-for-25) during that stretch. Soto has continued to reach base consistently, however, due to his willingness to take a walk -- across the eight-game span, he's accumulated an 11:6 BB:K, and he leads the league with 65 total walks on the season. • Four homers in six games
Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Reds.

Advice: Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 22 games, but his power has been particularly notable of late. Across his last six starts, he has gone deep four times to bring his total on the season to 13. Across the entirety of his hitting streak, Reynolds has hit .360 with 16 RBI and 15 runs. • Mauled by Mets
Cole (0-1) took the loss Tuesday as the Yankees fell 9-7 to the Mets, surrendering six runs on seven hits -- including four home runs -- and four walks over four innings. He failed to strike out a batter.

Advice: Making his second start of the season after recovering from an elbow issue, Cole simply couldn't locate his pitches as he served up four or more long balls for only the second time in his career -- the other such start came against the Twins in June 2022. The veteran right-hander did throw 72 pitches (44 strikes) Tuesday, up from 62 in his season debut as the Yankees gradually increase his workload. Cole will look to bounce back in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Toronto. Rotowire.com Today, 5:30 am
    • Swipes two bags
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases Tuesday against Seattle.

Advice: Lowe has started to heat up at the plate, as he's gone 11-for-30 with three homers, seven RBI and six runs scored across his last eight games. He's also displayed a penchant for steals, swiping three bags across his last three starts. Though Lowe had an injured-plagued first half of the season, he may be ready to deliver on lofty preseason expectations in the final months of the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 pm

    • Homers, scores three times in loss
Henderson went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in a 10-8 loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Henderson hit a two-run home run in the first inning then walked and scored in the third. He later singled and scored in the seventh frame and added another walk in the eighth. Henderson registered his seventh-multi hit game in June and is now slashing .333/.436/.667 with seven home runs and 14 RBI this month. On the season, the 22-year-old shortstop is slashing .282/.383/.607 with 25 homers, 55 RBI, 69 runs scored and 13 steals over 305 at-bats. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:27 pm
