    • Grayson Rodriguez strikes out 8 in win over M’s
Grayson Rodriguez was exceptional in Tuesday night’s victory over the Mariners, racking up eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball.

Advice: The 24-year-old budding superstar scattered just two hits and four walks on the evening. Only once did the Mariners advance a runner past second base on Rodriguez in this one, and that came with two outs in the sixth inning before Rodriguez punched out Cal Raleigh to end the threat. He generated a whopping 19 swings and misses on 104 pitches on the night, posting a strong CSW of 32 percent. Now 10-3 on the season, Rodriguez will carry a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 97/29 K/BB ratio (88 2/3 innings) into battle against the Athletics in Oakland on Sunday. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago
    • Earns 10th win
Rodriguez (10-3) allowed two hits and four walks while striking out eight over 6.1 scoreless innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Tuesday.

Advice: This was just the second time in his last seven starts that Rodriguez walked multiple batters, but that was virtually the only flaw in his performance Tuesday. It was also his third scoreless outing of the year. Rodriguez is now at a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 97:29 K:BB through 88.2 innings over 15 starts. The right-hander is tentatively projected for a home start versus the Cubs for his next appearance if the Orioles go to a six-man rotation, though he could move up to pitch on regular rest at Oakland on Sunday if Baltimore elects to work with five starters. • Rhys Hoskins leads Brewers past Rockies on Tuesday
Rhys Hoskins drew a go-ahead bases-loaded walk with two outs in the ninth inning on Tuesday night, leading the Brewers to a 4-3 victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Hoskins entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Jake Bauers in the eighth inning where he went down on strikes. He atoned for that failure in the ninth inning though, working a walk off of Justin Lawrence to drive in the go-ahead run. On the season, the 31-year-old slugger is hitting .224/.318/.404 with 11 homers, 38 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Rotoworld Today, 9:14 pm

    • Earns 31st save
Helsley earned a save against the Pirates on Tuesday, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Helsley was asked to protect a 7-4 lead in the ninth inning and did so on 17 pitches. He leads the league with 31 saves and has not blown a save chance since his first outing of the season. Through 38 innings, the 29-year-old owns a 2.54 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 47:16 K:BB. • Lowe homers twice off Cease in win over Padres
Nathaniel Lowe went 2-for-4 with four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Padres.

Advice: Lowe put the Rangers on the board in the bottom of the first inning when he sent a two-run homer into the stands off Padres starter Dylan Cease. It was just Lowe’s fifth homer of the season, but the veteran first baseman has now hit safely in three straight games while driving in six runs and homering twice over that span. Lowe got to Cease again in the third inning when he hit another two-run blast to push the Rangers’ lead to 5-0, and now has 33 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:38 pm
    • Ryan Helsley snags 31st save
Ryan Helsley threw a scoreless ninth inning to pick up a save in a 7-4 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Helsley didn’t allow a hit while striking out one and now leads baseball with his 31st save, which is incredible since we haven’t even hit the All-Star break yet. He’s been one of the best draft day values of the 2024 fantasy baseball season. Rotoworld Today, 6:55 pm
    • Scratched from start
Baz was scratched from his start with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Baz was removed from his outing in order to be available as a depth option for the Rays in case the team needs to play a doubleheader Wednesday or Thursday against the Royals, as inclement weather is expected in Kansas City. Baz's health is not a concern and he carries a 4.12 ERA and a 10.1 K/9 over 39.1 innings in 10 starts with Durham this season. Rotowire.com Today, 4:27 pm

    • Rays scratch Shane Baz in case of Wednesday DH
Shane Baz was scratched from Tuesday’s start for Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Baz was scratched to keep him available in case the Rays need to call up a starter for a potential Wednesday doubleheader against the Royals. With rain in the forecast in Kansas City on Tuesday night, Tampa Bay didn’t want to take any chances and not have Baz available, if needed. There’s still a bunch of hurdles to clear, but it’s possible the 25-year-old top pitching prospect could make his long-awaited return from Tommy John surgery later this week. • Jordan Montgomery hits IL with knee inflammation
Diamondbacks placed LHP Jordan Montgomery on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 29, with right knee inflammation.

Advice: Arizona had to come up with something here since Montgomery badly needs to press the reset button on the metaphorical console. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters that injury occurred during a bullpen session over the weekend and he doesn’t expect it to be an extended absence. The 31-year-old southpaw’s Arizona debut has gone about as poorly as one could imagine with a bloated 6.44 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 45/23 K/BB ratio across 65 2/3 innings (13 starts). The hope here for fantasy managers is that some time out of the spotlight to work on things is able to help him get back on track. Rotoworld Today, 3:34 pm
