    • Another quality outing
Jones didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Giants, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks across six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The rookie delivered a fourth consecutive quality start Wednesday and generated a double play in three separate innings to keep the Giants from putting a runner in scoring position until the fifth frame. In that fifth inning, Jones allowed a double and an RBI single to the first two batters he faced, then he surrendered a two-run homer to Matt Chapman in the sixth. Jones is one quality start shy of the league lead and holds a 3.05 ERA with a 68:10 K:BB across 59.0 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Tigers in Detroit on Tuesday. • Homers in win
Bichette went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 9-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Bichette's power has been largely absent this season -- this was just his third homer of the season through 45 contests. Two of them have come over the last 10 games, a span in which he's hitting .351 (13-for-37) with seven RBI and four doubles. The shortstop is slashing a middling .233/.289/.349 with 19 RBI, 15 runs scored, four stolen bases, nine doubles and a triple through 187 plate appearances, though he's starting to turn things around. • Bo Bichette homers in win over White Sox
Bo Bichette went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a 9-2 win over the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Bichette’s numbers continue to improve after a cold start. He added two hits on Wednesday, including a two-run homer off Nick Nastrini in the second inning. He added another run for the Blue Jays in the fourth with a base hit to score Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The 26-year-old shortstop is now hitting .233/.289/.349 with three homers, 19 RBI, and four steals across 187 plate appearances. • Jared Jones strikes out five in no-decision
Jared Jones pitched well in a tough-luck no-decision on Wednesday, limiting the Giants to three runs on six hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: The 22-year-old punched out five batters on the evening while allowing three walks. The Giants didn’t break through against him until Jorge Soler smacked an RBI single in the fifth inning. He then served up a two-run bomb to Matt Chapman in the sixth. Jones generated 16 swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night — seven of those on his slider — while registering a strong CSW of 32 percent. The rookie right-hander will carry an impressive 3.05 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 68/10 K/BB ratio (59 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Tigers in Detroit. Rotoworld Today, 7:06 pm

    • Jesús Luzardo fires eight innings, earns win
Jesús Luzardo pitched eight strong innings allowing just three hits and no earned runs in a 1-0 over the Brewers on Wednesday. He struck out four and walked none.

Advice: For the second straight start, Luzardo was tremendous despite falling fastball velocity . His fastball averaged 94.1 MPH on Wednesday, down nearly two ticks off this year’s average and three from last season. Still, his fastball, changeup, and slider each induced six whiffs while the changeup was especially tough on right-handed batters. There’s concern though with the velocity coming off an early season elbow strain. Rotoworld Today, 5:54 pm
    • Resting Wednesday
Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Jansen will get a breather for the series finale after he was behind the plate both of the previous two days. Alejandro Kirk will draw the start at catcher Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 12:06 pm

    • Swipes base as pinch runner
Ruiz entered Tuesday's win over the Rockies in the eighth inning as a pinch runner and remained in the game in left field. He did not log a plate appearance but recorded a stolen base.

Advice: Abraham Toro opened the eighth inning with a go-ahead solo home run for Oakland and Brent Rooker got aboard with a single two batters later, setting up Ruiz's entry into the game in a pinch-running capacity. The fleet-footed outfielder advanced to second on a Shea Langeliers walk before swiping third, but he was stranded at the hot corner after Tyler Soderstrom and Zack Gelof each struck out to end the inning. Ruiz has seen only sporadic playing time after drawing starts in four of the first seven games in May, with JJ Bleday earning the bulk of playing time in center field thanks to a productive stretch at the plate over his last 10 contests. • Rings up ninth save
Miller recorded his ninth save in Tuesday's win over the Rockies, striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Miller mowed through the trio of Jordan Beck, Charlie Blackmon and Ezequiel Tovar on 16 pitches, retiring each on swinging strikes to close out the one-run win. It was Miller's first save opportunity since April 30, as well as his 15th straight scoreless appearance. The flamethrowing right-hander hasn't allowed so much as a single since April 25 as well, and his trio of strikeouts Tuesday pushed his K/9 and swinging strikeout rate figures to an astounding 18.1 and 23.7 percent, respectively, across 20.1 innings. • Day off Wednesday
O'Hoppe is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Houston, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Angels' top catcher will get a routine day off as the Angels and Astros wrap up their series with a game that begins at 2:10 p.m. ET. Matt Thaiss will start behind the plate Wednesday while O'Hoppe receives some rest. Rotowire.com Today, 8:34 am
