    • Works into seventh
Bello did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Bello cruised through the first four in allowing only two baserunners and finished the sixth inning in line for a quality start and the win. For the first time all year, Bello was called upon to go back out for the seventh, but after recording one out, he allowed the next two runners to reach base prior to being pulled, with both runners eventually coming around to score, adversely impacting his final line. It was only the second time this year that Bello has not been involved in the decision. His next opportunity to take the hill will likely come next weekend when Boston travels to Chicago to take on the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:06 pm
    • Nico Hoerner has two hits in loss to Reds
Nico Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Hoerner has been slowly increasing his batting average in recent weeks and is up to .262/.351/.366 on the season; however, he didn’t attempt a stolen base today and has just six on the season. After stealing 43 bases last year, it’s discouraging to see Hoerner not running as often. It could partially be a hamstring issue he’s been dealing with or a new philosophy under manager Craig Counsell, but since Hoerner doesn’t have much power, his fantasy value will take a big hit if he’s only a 25-stolen-base hitter who will hit .270-.280. If you need the steals, you should still keep Hoerner in your lineup, but if you’re OK on speed and somebody makes a compelling offer, he could be a player you’re OK parting with. • Brayan Bello falters late in no-decision
Brayan Bello was charged with four runs in 6 1/3 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Tigers.

Advice: This one is on Alex Cora, who sent Bello back out for the seventh to face the top of the lineup for a fourth time even though he had given up runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Bello surrendered hits to two of the three batters he faced before being pulled, and Justin Slaten allowed both runners to score afterwards. Bello remains 6-2 with a 4.36 ERA. • Receiving Sunday off
Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Smith started the previous five games and will receive the day off for Sunday's series finale versus Colorado. Austin Barnes will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Gavin Stone. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:53 am

    • Will Smith gets Sunday off again vs. Rockies
Will Smith is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Smith almost always gets Sunday off, and this won’t be an exception. The 29-year-old slugger will take a break with Austin Barnes behind the plate for the series finale. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:55 am

    • Taking seat in series finale
Cowser is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Advice: After going 1-for-7 with a walk between the first two games of the series versus Tampa Bay, Cowser will hit the bench for the series finale while Austin Hays picks up a start in left field. Cowser had started each of the Orioles' previous seven contests and still appears to be locked into a near-everyday role in the outfield. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:40 am

    • Idle against lefty
Merrill is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Merrill will watch from the bench as lefty Cole Ragans gets the start for Kansas City. Jose Azocar will fill in for Merrill in center field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:40 am

    • Powers offense with two homers
Mountcastle went 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs, four RBI and a third run scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rays.

Advice: The O's launched four homers in total off Taj Bradley, and Mountcastle bookended the barrage with long balls in the first and fourth innings. The power display snapped a 17-game homer drought for the 27-year-old, but Mountcastle hasn't been slumping -- over his last 10 games he's batting .459 (17-for-37) with five doubles and five multi-hit performances. That surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .293/.333/.505 with eight home runs and 24 RBI in 51 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:39 am

    • Goes yard in Saturday's win
Hayes went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The third baseman took Yusei Kikuchi deep in the first inning, helping to kick-start what proved to be a laugher for the Pirates. It was only Hayes' second long ball of the season and his first in three games since recovering from back issues and coming off the IL. The 27-year-old had has a rough start to the campaign, but he could be rounding into form now that he's healthy. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:11 am
