White Sox recalled INF Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte.

  • D'Arnaud's bat, legs lead Braves past Marlins
Chase d'Arnaud went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in the Braves' 8-5 win over the Marlins on Thursday.

Advice: D'Arnaud scored the first run of the game for the Braves in the third inning, motoring around from first base on Freddie Freeman's triple, and he added RBI hits in the sixth and eighth innings. The 29-year-old, who has played five different positions for the Braves this year, is batting a respectable .276/.349/.366 in 42 games. He's not much to look at, but those in deep NL-only leagues may want to take notice. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:14 pm

  • Forsythe enjoys three-hit night versus Tigers
Logan Forsythe went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Tigers.

Advice: Forsythe's RBI single in the eighth inning stretched the Rays' lead to 7-2, a lead they surely thought would stand up with three outs to get. It wouldn't, of course, but that's not to take anything away from Forsythe's night, as he's now 12-for-26 (.461) with four doubles, a home run, four RBI and five runs scored in his last six games. The blazing hot week has his overall line up to .308/.372/.503. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:47 pm
  • Espinosa has two homers, seven RBI in rout
Danny Espinosa led the charge with two home runs and seven RBI as the Nationals routed the Reds 13-4 on Thursday.

Advice: Espinosa made his two hits count, cranking a grand slam off Reds starter Brandon Finnegan in the third inning before launching a three-run blast a frame later. It was a strong finish to what was an impressive month for the 29-year-old, as he closes June with nine homers, 21 RBI and 21 runs scored in the month. Espinosa is doing everything he can to keep Trea Turner in the minors for another day. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:31 pm

  • Kipnis homers, extends hit streak to 12 games
Jason Kipnis went 2-for-3 with a home run in Thursday's win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Kipnis extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a single in the first inning, adding the solo shot in the third for good measure. The second baseman now has three homers in his last seven games and 11 overall. He's hitting .271/.328/.452 with 45 RBI and 39 runs scored. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:20 pm
  • Ramiro Pena diagnosed with sprained ankle
Ramiro Pena's MRI revealed a sprained ankle.

Advice: Pena suffered the injury in last night's loss to Oakland. The injury will keep him out of the lineup for the next 5-7 days, though Pena could be available to pinch-hit this weekend. He's hit .400 with six RBI since arriving in the big leagues about three weeks ago. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 6:00 pm

  • Giants recall infielder Grant Green from AAA
Giants purchased the contract of INF Grant Green from Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: The Giants made room for Green by sending Chris Stratton down to Triple-A. The 28-year-old has had a solid year in the minors, hitting .294 with 33 RBI in 65 appearances for Sacramento. He missed time with a laceration earlier this month but is now back at full strength. Green will draw the start at second base and bat seventh Thursday against A's left-hander Dillon Overton. Tommy La Stella (hamstring) will remain on his minor league rehab assignment through at least Friday.

Advice: La Stella has made two rehab appearances for Triple-A Iowa and it looks like he'll make at least two more. The 27-year-old should join the Cubs later this weekend. He'll return to a .291 average with two homers in 79 at-bats. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:35 pm

Advice: Infante hasn't played in a game since June 6, so he'll need a few days to shake off the rust. After that, he'll settle in at Triple-A Gwinnett. • Kipnis drives in two runs and steals a base
Jason Kipnis hit a two-run single in the fifth inning and added a stolen base on Wednesday night.

Advice: Kipnis went 1-for-3 to raise his batting average to .267 for the year. He has 10 home runs to go with 38 runs, 44 RBI and five steals. He is hitting for more power than previous seasons but his stolen base pace is dwindling severely. He has stolen 30 or more bases twice in his career but will not come close to that this year. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:18 pm
  • Peterson gets two hits and a walk on Wed.
Jace Peterson went 2-for-three with a walk in a Braves loss on Wednesday.

Advice: Peterson is now the everyday starter at second base for Atlanta but fantasy owners don't have much interest. He does not have much power, nor does he steal bases. The 26-year-old has a .282 batting average in 110 at-bats. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:12 pm
  • Altuve falls a homer shy of cycle vs Angels
Jose Altuve missed the cycle by a home run in Wednesday's 10-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Altuve finished the game 4-for-5 with four runs scored, an RBI triple and a stolen base. Not a bad day at the office. The diminutive second baseman is posting a legitimate MVP-caliber season -- the Astros' recent turnaround will only aid that -- on the strength of a monumental .357/.432/.572 triple-slash with 23 doubles, 13 homers, 46 RBI, 21 steals and 60 runs scored across 311 at-bats. Advice: Alcantara came over to the A's from the Cubs as part of the Chris Coghlan trade earlier this month. He was called up to the big league club on June 21 and picked up two hits in eight at-bats during that cup of iced coffee. The 24-year-old utility bat also stole two bases in that space. Addison Russell slugged a solo homer against the Reds on Wednesday.

Javier Baez was hitless in his first six trips to the plate but launched a grand slam in his seventh at-bat in the 15th inning of Tuesday's win over the Reds.

Advice: Now that's how you turn your night around. Baez lifted a JJ Hoover offering over the center field wall, giving the Cubs some cushion in the extra-inning marathon. • Dozier keeps mashing, homers twice in victory
Brian Dozier went 3-for-4 with two home runs and all four RBI as the Twins blanked the White Sox 4-0 on Tuesday.

Advice: Dozier now has four homers in his last three games and seven in the month of June, a month in which he's hitting .361 with 19 RBI and 18 runs scored. During a 10-game hitting streak, the 29-year-old has raised his average from .227 to .259. Reports of his death were certainly exaggerated, and Dozier now has 12 home runs on the year to go with that .259/.341/.463 line. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:14 pm

  • Dozier hits one of six Twins home runs
Brian Dozier went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

All seven of their runs scored via the home run, with Dozier, Danny Santana, Trevor Plouffe, Max Kepler, Eduardo Nunez and Juan Centeno upping their homer totals by the end of the game. Dozier's was the only non-solo shot, as he cranked a two-run dinger off of Yankees starter/pinata Nathan Eovaldi in the sixth inning. Advice: The homer was Russell's seventh of the year, giving him 40 RBI and 29 runs scored. The second-year shortstop is batting .245/.338/.392 in 68 games this season. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 5:35 pm

  • Kipnis leaves Saturday's game with illness
Jason Kipnis left Saturday's game against the Tigers with an illness.

Advice: Kipnis went 1-for-3 with a single before exiting in the seventh inning. Utility man Michael Martinez replaced him at second base and would likely get the start there Sunday if Kipnis is still feeling under the weather. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 4:28 pm
  • Schoop has two hits, double in win
Jonathan Schoop went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Saturday’s win over the Rays.

Advice: Schoop is now batting .483 (14-for-29) with two home runs, three doubles, five RBI, and 12 runs scored over his last seven games. He has pulled his batting average up from .264 to .287 in the process. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 1:28 pm
  • Dozier socks solo homer in loss
Brian Dozier socked a solo homer in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: His second-inning blast off Michael Pineda was the only offense of the day for the Twins. Dozier got off to a miserable start at the plate this season, but he’s batting .337 with 14 extra-base hits (including four homers), 13 RBI, and three steals over 23 games this month. We don’t expect the batting average to last, but he’s safe to use again in standard fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 1:09 pm

  • Miller to serve as designated hitter Sat.
Brad Miller will serve as the designated hitter in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Orioles.

  • Kipnis triples twice in Indian's win on Fri
Jason Kipnis hit two triples and knocked in three runners to help the Indians beat the Tigers on Friday.

Advice: Kipnis tripled in two runs in the first inning, then tripled in another run in the fourth. His teammates failed to score him from third base both times. His .268/.325/.439 slash line isn't nearly as pretty as last year's .303/.372/.451 but his counting stats are looking better. His nine homers have already tied last year's total and put him on pace to beat his career high of 17. He has 36 runs and 38 RBI as well as four steals. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:00 pm
  • La Stella (hamstring) close to beginning rehab
Tommy La Stella (hamstring) could begin a minor league rehab assignment as early as Monday.

Advice: La Stella was placed on the disabled list two weeks ago with a strained hamstring. He's made steady progress and now it looks like La Stella could be back in the big leagues by the end of the month. He's played reasonably well in a utility role this year, hitting .291 while making starts at both second and third base. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:44 pm

  • Joe Panik knocks in three with triple
Joe Panik had a three-run triple against the Pirates in Thursday's win.

Advice: The ball to right-center really should have been cut off, but Gregory Polanco was playing him to pull in center and Matt Joyce wasn't nearly quick enough to get there from right. It was Panik's fifth triple of the year, and he's up to 36 RBI. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:19 pm

  • KC releases second baseman Omar Infante
    Royals released 2B Omar Infante.

Advice: Infante was designated for assignment by Kansas City last week and passed through waivers unclaimed. He was batting just .239/.279/.321 this season for the Royals, but the 34-year-old could draw interest from multiple teams on the open market now that he will come cheap. Kansas City will have to eat the remainder of his $7.75 million salary for this year and $8 million next year. He also has a $2 million buyout on a voided option for 2018. • Panik's RBI double leads Giants to victory
Joe Panik only had one hit on Wednesday, but it was a big one as he smacked a two-run double to lift the Giants over the Pirates 7-6 on Wednesday.

Advice: Panik finished 1-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored. His key hit came in the sixth inning off Pirates' reliever Jared Hughes. Panik drove a double to left to score Ramiro Pena and Jarrett Parker, turning a one-run deficit into a one-run lead. Panik hasn't hit nearly as well as he did last year. His .259/.322/.409 slash line is essentially league-average across the board. That is not nearly as pretty as his .312/.378/.455 line from last year. While his rate stats may be down his counting stats are up. His seven homers are one behind his career high and he is on pace to blow past last year's totals in runs, RBI and steals as well. • Schoop get two hits and an RBI on Wed
Jonathan Schoop went 2-for-3 plus a walk, drove in a run and scored a run on Wednesday.

Advice: Schoop is quietly having a semi-breakout season at the age of 24. Largely written off after his extremely poor 2014 season, Schoop has been very good ever since. He is now hitting .285 with 12 home runs, 35 runs and 42 RBI on the season. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:03 pm
  • Aledmys Diaz goes 3-for-4 with HR vs. Cubs
Aledmys Diaz went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer Wednesday in the Cardinals' 7-2 defeat of the Cubs.

Advice: Diaz singled off Jake Arrieta in the first and fifth before cranking a two-run shot off Carl Edwards Jr. in the sixth. The 25-year-old shortstop has met some natural regression, but he still boasts an impressive .310/.362/.496 overall batting line with nine home runs and 35 RBI in 67 total games this season. • Castro slugs walkoff homer to down Rockies
Starlin Castro slugged a walkoff solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday as the Yankees beat the visiting Rockies 9-8.

Advice: Castro took Jason Motte deep on the second pitch of the bottom of the ninth inning with the score tied 8-8. It was Castro's third hit in the slugfest -- the other two being singles. He's batting .257/.290/.419 with 10 home runs and 28 RBI in 69 games this season. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 1:47 pm

  • Dozier has three more hits, two runs vs. PHI
Brian Dozier went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.

Advice: Dozier had an RBI single in the first inning before swatting a run-scoring triple, his second triple in three games, in the sixth. In that three-game span, Dozier is now 7-for-13 with those two triples, a homer, three RBI and six runs scored. The stretch has been part of a terrific month of June that has Dozier's overall line up to .244/.335/.407. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 10:12 pm

  • Jace Peterson's heroics lead Braves past Fish
Jace Peterson played the role of hero on Tuesday, delivering a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning to lead the Braves to a 3-2 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Peterson set the stage two innings earlier, clubbing a two-run homer off of David Phelps to tie the game at 2-2 and force extra innings. Hitting out of the leadoff spot in the Braves lineup on Tuesday, he finished the night 2-for-5. He's now hitting .256/.348/.333 with one homer and 10 RBI on the season. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:46 pm
  • Four score: Uribe homers in fourth straight
Juan Uribe hit a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Rays.

Advice: Uribe has now somehow homered in four straight games after hitting just two in his first 48 contests. The veteran third baseman is still batting just .236/.288/.385 with those six homers and 20 RBI on the year. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:58 pm

  • A's recall INF Alcantara from Triple-A
Athletics recalled INF/OF Arismendy Alcantara from Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Alcantara, who was recently acquired from the Cubs for Chris Coghlan, was batting .248/.299/.415 with six homers and 26 steals over 63 games this season in Triple-A. The 24-year-old figures to serve in a utility role initially, but he could find regular playing time during the second half. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 11:42 am

The Royals have requested release waivers on infielder Omar Infante.

Advice: Infante was designated for assignment by the Royals last week and given his remaining contract, he'll almost certainly pass through waivers and hit free agency on Thursday.
