  • Jose Iglesias (personal) in lineup on Monday
Jose Iglesias is back in the Tigers' starting lineup on Monday night against the Indians.

Advice: Iglesias was scratched from the Tigers' lineup Sunday following the death of his friend and fellow Cuban Jose Fernandez. He'll start at shortstop and bat ninth Monday versus Indians right-hander Corey Kluber. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:29 pm
  • Peralta drives home lone run in loss to Cubs
Jhonny Peralta went 1-for-4 and plated the Cardinals' lone run in Sunday night's loss to the Cubs.

Advice: His run-scoring single in the eighth inning got the Cardinals on the board, cutting their deficit in half at 2-1. That would be the extent of their offense though. It has been a disappointing and injury-plagued season for the veteran infielder who is now hitting .251/.298/.395 with seven homers and 25 RBI in his 75 games. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 8:24 pm

  • Adam Rosales goes deep in win over Giants
Adam Rosales went 1-for-3 with a homer and a walk as the Padres came from behind to beat the Giants 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: Rosales tagged Giants starter Ty Blach for a solo shot in the third inning, pulling the Padres to within a run at 3-2. The lefty-mashing utility man has been on a tear as of late and is now slashing .232/.322/.502 with 13 long balls and 35 RBI on the season. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:51 pm

  • Jordy Mercer (forearm) returns to lineup
Jordy Mercer (forearm) is back in the Pirates' lineup Sunday.

Advice: It's his first start since Wednesday as Mercer has battled a flexor issue in his right arm. He's at shortstop and batting sixth against A.J. Cole and the Nationals. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 10:10 am
  • Jose Iglesias scratched from Tigers' lineup
Jose Iglesias was a late scratch from the Tigers' lineup Sunday.

Advice: Chris McCosky of the Detroit News says that Iglesias "was tore up pretty good" by the death of fellow Cuban Jose Fernandez and it appears that's the reason for him being scratched. Andrew Romine has replaced Iglesias at shortstop. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 7:40 am
  • Jose Iglesias (hand) back in action Saturday
Jose Iglesias (hand) singled and scored a run in five trips to the plate Saturday against the Royals.

Advice: Iglesias had to be lifted from Friday's game after an errant throw from third base hit his right hand as he crossed first base. However, he didn't wind up needing any additional down time as it turned out. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:23 am
  • Drew picks up two-run single against Pirates
Stephen Drew went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: Drew had a big two-run single in the first inning to widen the Nats' early lead, and they never looked back. In his last four games, Drew is 6-for-15 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored, and with Daniel Murphy still sidelined it's likely the 33-year-old continues to get regular playing time as the season winds down. Drew is hitting .281/.345/.539 in 64 games this year. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:56 pm

  • Holt has RBI double, run scored against Rays
Brock Holt went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Rays.

Advice: Holt plated the first run of the game with a double in the second inning. The all-purpose 28-year-old is hitting .264/.326/.397 with seven homers, 34 RBI, 44 runs scored and four steals in 88 games this year. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 7:34 pm

  • Tyler Saladino (back) to see doctor on Monday
White Sox manager Robin Ventura expects Tyler Saladino (back) will have his back checked out when the team returns home on Monday.

Advice: He was scratched from Friday's lineup with back discomfort and is expected to miss the entire weekend series in Cleveland. It's been a rough injury month for Saladino, who just returned after missing three games with a calf issue earlier this week. The 27-year-old has hit .282 this year with eight homers, 38 RBI and 11 steals. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 5:41 pm

  • Flores (wrist) could be done for the year
ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports Wilmer Flores (wrist) may be done for the season.

Advice: He isn't close to swinging a bat and has already received two cortisone shots since going down with a bruised wrist two weeks ago. Flores could return if the Mets make a deep postseason run but it's a near certainty he won't be back for the final week of the regular season. Assuming that's the case, Flores will close out the 2016 campaign with 16 HR, 49 RBI and a .267 average across 307 at-bats. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 1:46 pm

  • Jordy Mercer fouls out as pinch hitter
Jordy Mercer (forearm) fouled out as a pinch hitter during Friday's come-from-behind victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Mercer was scratched from Friday's lineup due to discomfort in his right forearm and was held out on Friday as well. The fact that he was able to appear as a pinch hitter bodes well for his status going forward and he should return to the starting lineup at some point over the weekend. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 5:44 am
  • Carlos Asuaje doubles twice
Collecting his first major league hits, Carlos Asuaje doubled twice and scored twice Friday against the Giants.

Advice: Asuaje was making his second start at second base since joining the Padres four days ago. The late callup will give him little chance to throw his hat in the ring for a place on next year's team, but he's a fringy prospect anyway. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:57 pm
  • Iglesias day-to-day with hand contusion
Jose Iglesias has been diagnosed with a right hand contusion and is listed as day-to-day.

Advice: The defensive wizard was hit in the hand by an errant throw while running the bases in Friday's victory over the Royals. It wouldn't be surprising to see Andrew Romine start in his place on Saturday. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:51 pm
  • Jose Iglesias leaves game with hand injury
Jose Iglesias was forced to leave Friday's game against the Royals after being hit on the hand by an errant throw.

Advice: Iglesias got drilled on the right hand by a wild throw from Cheslor Cuthbert as he crossed first base. He remained in the game to run for himself, but was replaced by Andrew Romine defensively the next half inning. Expect the Tigers to provide an update on his status after the conclusion of Friday's game. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:42 pm
  • Tyler Saladino scratched with sore back
Tyler Saladino was scratched from Friday's lineup with back discomfort.

Advice: Saladino missed a few days of action last month with back issues. Consider him day-to-day. Carlos Sanchez replaced him at second base. Rotoworld.com Friday, 2:46 pm

  • Chris Taylor recalled from Triple-A
Dodgers recalled INF Chris Taylor from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Taylor has batted just .224/.274/.379 in the majors this season. He'll provide infield depth. Rotoworld.com Friday, 2:25 pm
  • Jordy Mercer (forearm) scratched from lineup
Jordy Mercer was scratched from Thursday's lineup with right forearm discomfort.

Advice: It's unclear at this point whether it's something that could keep him out for more than just the one game. Sean Rodriguez will slide over from second base to shortstop for Mercer, while Adam Frazier has entered the lineup at second. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 2:30 pm
  • Brock Holt (death in family) back Thursday
Brock Holt (personal) is back in the Red Sox starting lineup Thursday night against the Orioles.

Advice: Holt was excused from the club for a couple of days following a death in his family. He will start at shortstop and bat second Thursday versus Orioles right-hander Chris Tillman. Xander Bogaerts has the night off. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 12:23 pm

  • Ketel Marte still regaining strength
Ketel Marte said he's still rebuilding overall strength following a six-week bout with mono.

Advice: "When you lose 22 pounds, especially for me, a skinny guy, it’s not easy," Marte told the Tacoma News Tribune. "But not just me. Anybody. If you lose 22 pounds, it’s not that easy. It takes time. You just progress. You eat, but you still feel like your energy level is down." He's batting just .232/.254/.268 in 17 games this month, with only two extra-base hits over his last 75 plate appearances. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:27 am
  • Nick Franklin (hamstring) pinch-hit Wed.
Nick Franklin (hamstring) popped out as a pinch-hitter on Wednesday versus the Yankees.

Advice: Franklin had been inactive for six straight days because of a moderate left hamstring strain. He probably isn't going to make many starts over the Rays' final 11 regular-season games. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:06 am

Padres designated INF Nick Noonan for assignment.

Advice: Noonan saw 105 at-bats with the Giants in 2013, but has only received a combined 40 major league at-bats in the three years since. The 27-year-old infielder managed just three hits in 18 at-bats in limited action with the Padres during the 2016 campaign. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 2:24 pm

  • Wilmer Flores (wrist) won't play on Thursday
Mets manager Terry Collins has ruled out Wilmer Flores (wrist) for Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Collins deemed the worry-level surrounding Flores' wrist as a "DEFCON 4," so that is somewhat disconcerting. The team had hoped that the 25-year-old infielder would be able to return to the lineup against Phillies southpaw Adam Morgan on Thursday. Flores is currently sidelined by a left wrist injury suffered in a collision at home plate on September 10. He has been given two cortisone shots in the intervening days, but Collins said Flores has not been able to swing a bat since the collision. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 1:26 pm

  • Rays add INF Juniel Querecuto from AAA
Rays purchased the contract of INF Juniel Querecuto from Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Querecuto will give the Rays a little extra infield depth for their final 12 games. He batted .241/.298/.341 with three homers and three steals in 375 plate appearances this season between Double-A and Triple-A. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 12:36 pm
  • Padres promote Carlos Asuaje from AAA
Padres purchased the contract of INF Carlos Asuaje from Triple-A El Paso.

Advice: Asuaje will get a small taste of the majors after coming just short of a Triple-A championship with the Padres' affiliate in the Pacific Coast League. The 24-year-old second baseman hit .321/.378/.473 with nine home runs, 69 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and 98 runs scored in 134 games this season at the Triple-A level. San Diego may give him a start or two, but this is more of a 2017-and-beyond fantasy commodity. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:58 am
  • Saladino (calf) goes 1-for-4 in return Tues.
Tyler Saladino (calf) went 1-for-4 in his return to the White Sox starting lineup Tuesday.

Advice: Saladino missed a handful of games after tweaking his calf Friday night in Kansas City. The 27-year-old infielder is slashing .286/.319/.415 with eight home runs and 11 stolen bases in 92 games this season. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 5:53 am

  • Adam Rosales homers, drives in four vs. ARI
Adam Rosales went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Funky little batting line for Rosales due to the fact that two of his four RBI came via sacrifice flies. His two-run home run in the sixth inning was his 11th of the season. The veteran infielder has homered in two of his last three games and is slashing .233/.323/.485 with 11 homers and 32 RBI over 202 at-bats for the season as a whole. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 11:42 pm

  • Descalso notches three hits vs. former team
Daniel Descalso went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Playing against his former club, the 29-year-old took former teammate Adam Wainwright deep in the fourth inning for a solo dong. A fractured left hand suffered in spring training has limited Descalso to 89 games, but he's taken well to Coors Field in his first year with the Rox. The utility infielder is hitting .275/.369/.455 with a career-high eight homers this year. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:48 pm

Wilmer Flores was given a second cortisone injection for his injured left wrist.

Advice: Flores hasn't appeared in a game for the Mets since suffering a bone bruise in an awkward home-plate collision with A.J. Pierzynski on September 10 in Atlanta, and it's going to be at least another couple days before he can return. T.J. • Franklin diagnosed with moderate hammy sprain
Nick Franklin was diagnosed with a moderate strain of his left hamstring following an MRI.

Advice: Franklin suffered the injury last Thursday. At this point, it's going to be tough for him to make it back this season. • Nick Franklin to undergo MRI on hamstring
Nick Franklin is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his left hamstring strain Monday.

Advice: Franklin hasn't played since straining the hamstring last Thursday and he isn't making much progress on the side. Any injury is a potential season-ender at this point, but the MRI results should tell the whole story. Franklin, 25, has registered an impressive .280/.343/.465 batting line in 53 games this summer for Tampa Bay. He missed time with a concussion in August. Rotoworld.com Monday, 6:07 am

Adam Rosales clobbered his 10th home run of the season in Sunday's loss to the Rockies.

Advice: His solo shot opened the game's scoring in the second inning. Rosales also singled, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4. In a part-time job with the Padres this season, he has slashed .230/.326/.474 with 10 long balls and 28 RBI. Rotoworld.com Sep 18, 4:32 pm

  • Descalso has walk-off single against Padres
Daniel Descalso played hero with a pinch-hit walk-off RBI single in Friday’s 8-7 win over the Padres.

Advice: The Rockies rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth against Padres closer Brandon Maurer. With a .267/.369/.442 batting line to go along with seven homers and 36 RBI, Descalso is currently enjoying his most productive offensive season. It might come as a surprise to learn that he has actually done more damage on the road than he has done at Coors Field. The 29-year-old is seeing some time at shortstop with Trevor Story done for the year, but he’s mostly an option in deeper fantasy formats. Rotoworld.com Sep 16, 10:15 pm
