Blackburn (2-1) took the loss Tuesday as the A's fell 4-3 to the Yankees, giving up four runs on five hits over six innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Advice: The 30-year-old righty's command was a little off in the first inning, and New York made him pay with four runs, including a two-run homer by Anthony Rizzo -- the first long ball Blackburn has served up this season. He kept his focus and shut the Yankees down the rest of the way, but the A's couldn't close the gap. Blackburn threw 98 pitches (63 strikes) before exiting, and he'll take a 2.03 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB through 31 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Baltimore. • Nabs second steal
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Nationals.

Advice: The veteran outfielder crossed the plate multiple times for the first time in April, while the steal was his second of 2024. Hernandez got off to a quick start to his Dodgers tenure but has cooled down of late, slashing .226/.328/.321 over his last 15 games with only one homer, five RBI, seven runs and a 32.8 percent strikeout rate. • Homers as leadoff man
Trout went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Trout was placed atop the batting order for the first time since the 2020 campaign and wasted no time making an impact, taking Grayson Rodriguez deep to center for his first leadoff home run since 2012. Trout now has nine home runs through the team's first 24 games, which is his most since he had 10 in 2020. He's now also tied with Marcell Ozuna atop the home run leaderboard. Trout is slashing .237/.324/.581 with 12 RBI, 15 runs, five steals and a 11:23 BB:K in 105 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:17 am

    • Swipes two more bags
Turang went 1-for-2 with a walk and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Turang is now 12-for-12 in stolen base attempts this year, tying Elly De La Cruz for the league lead. After a disappointing rookie campaign, the 24-year-old Turang has gotten off to an excellent start this season, batting .319 with an .847 OPS, two homers, 12 runs scored and nine RBI through 21 games. • Justin Turner totals two hits in loss to Royals
Justin Turner went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday’s loss to the Royals.

Advice: Turner singled in the third inning to drive in George Springer, upping his RBI total on the season to 12. His single ended an 0-for-10 streak and lifted his average to .310 on the season. The veteran infielder continues to serve primarily as the Blue Jays designated hitter while hitting near the middle of a potent lineup. As long as he stays hot, Turner can be counted on to produce in multiple categories for fantasy managers.

    • Solid again despite loss
Houck (3-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: After twirling a complete-game shutout in his last start against Cleveland, Houck picked up where he left off, blanking the Guardians through six innings. However, he'd allow the first three batters to reach safely in the seventh, as Houck would ultimately be charged with two runs and the loss. Still, it's been an excellent start to the campaign for the 27-year-old Houck -- he has a sparkling 1.65 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP and 32:5 K:BB through his first five starts (32.2 innings). Houck's currently lined up for a two-start week -- he's slated to face the Cubs at home Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:14 pm
    • Bad 1st inning dooms Blackburn vs NYY
Paul Blackburn allowed four runs on five hits in six innings in a loss to the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: All four of the Yankees’ runs were scored in the first inning, when they recorded four hits, including a two-run home run by Anthony Rizzo. Blackburn then settled down and allowed just one hit over his next five innings while striking out five and walking none over that span. He posted a 23 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW on the day and saw his ERA rise to 2.03. He is certainly due for more ERA regression, and he’s not a recommended start on Sunday against the Orioles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:11 pm
    • Tanner Houck’s shutout streak ends vs. Guardians
Tanner Houck was charged with two runs over six innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Houck’s shutout streak against the Guardians was snapped at 15 consecutive frames in this one when Tyler Freeman delivered a game-tying RBI single in the seventh inning. He finished with four strikeouts and also issued three walks. He’ll bring a sparkling 1.65 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 32/5 K/BB ratio across 32 2/3 innings (five starts) into a road matchup on Saturday against the Twins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:30 pm
    • Mike Trout leading off Tuesday night vs. O’s
Mike Trout is leading off on Tuesday against the Orioles.

Advice: It’s the first time Trout has led off for Los Angeles since the second game of a late-August doubleheader against the Astros during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. His previous appearance before that was back in early 2018. The 32-year-old generational talent is in the midst of a renaissance campaign with an .889 OPS with eight homers and five steals through 23 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:56 pm
