    • Ranger Suárez keeps rolling Wednesday vs. Padres
      Ranger Suárez gave up one run over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Padres.

      Advice: Suárez rolled out his entire five-pitch arsenal on a scorching-hot, 87-degree Wednesday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park, limiting San Diego’s strong lineup to just a second-inning solo shot by rookie Jackson Merrill over six frames of work. He struck out four and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 28-year-old southpaw appears to be on the precipice of his first All-Star game selection as he’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but one of his 15 starts so far. He’ll carry a sparkling 1.75 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 95/19 K/BB ratio across 92 1/3 innings (15 starts) into a favorable road tilt on Tuesday against the Tigers. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:47 pm
       
    • Tarik Skubal gives up two homers in loss to Braves
      Tarik Skubal surrendered five runs — four earned — in four innings Wednesday in a loss to the Braves.

      Advice: Skubal struck out seven and gave up only five hard-hit balls. Unfortunately, two of those hard-hit balls went 426 and 407 feet, as Skubal allowed two homers for just the second time this season. It’s the fourth time this season that he’s allowed exactly four earned runs. He’s given up a total of nine earned runs in his other 11 outings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:31 pm
       
    • Takes second straight loss
      Skubal (8-3) took the loss Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Most of the damage against Skubal came via the long ball Wednesday -- he gave up a two-run homer to Sean Murphy in the third inning before Ramon Laureano tacked on a solo shot in the fourth. The 27-year-old Skubal has now lost back-to-back starts for the first time this season -- he's given up eight earned runs over 10.1 innings in that span. The left-hander still sports a solid 2.50 ERA on the year with a 0.97 WHIP and 105:18 K:BB across 90 innings. Skubal is lined up for another tough matchup next week at home versus the Phillies.     • Walker Buehler (ineffective) could land on IL
      The Dodgers are considering stashing Walker Buehler on the injured list after his poor performance at Coors Field against the Rockies on Tuesday.

      Advice: It appears this was being discussed even before Buehler gave up seven runs to Colorado, and now the Dodgers have a perfect excuse after Buehler was hit in the hip by a comebacker tonight. Buehler has a 5.84 ERA in eight starts since returning from Tommy John surgery, and the Dodgers are about to get Bobby Miller back from the IL, though he’ll be going into Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s slot.     • Roughed up Tuesday, could go on IL
      Buehler took a no-decision in Tuesday's 11-9 win over the Rockies after allowing seven earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out two over four innings. According to Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, manager Dave Roberts said after the game that Buehler could go on the injured list after taking a comebacker off his hip earlier in the contest.

      Advice: Buehler has struggled at times this season since he returned from Tommy John surgery, and a trip to Coors Field did him no favors for getting on track. He's struck out three or fewer batters in each of his last three starts, and Tuesday marked the third time this season he's given up multiple home runs in an outing. Buehler is now sitting on a 5.84 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB with 10 home runs allowed over 37 innings across eight starts. He's tentatively in line to make his ninth start next Monday or Tuesday on the road versus the White Sox, his status is in flux due to the hip issue, which didn't force him out of his start against the Rockies but may nonetheless be reason enough for the Dodgers to put him on ice for a bit.       Walker Buehler surrendered seven runs in four innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Rockies.

      Advice: Sigh. Buehler’s velocity tonight was his worst since his rejoined the roster, and he got just three missed swings in his 70 pitches. That he was hit in the hip by a comebacker might have played some role in his struggles. We wouldn’t go dropping Buehler, who is still in a terrific situation with the Dodgers, but his early results in his first six weeks back from Tommy John definitely haven’t been as encouraging as hoped.     • Picks up fourth win
      Skenes (4-0) earned the win Monday against the Reds after he allowed one run in six innings. He gave up six hits, walked one and struck out seven.

      Advice: Skenes has been every bit as advertised over his first seven career starts, and he once again showed off an impressive repertoire Monday to get his fourth win. The rookie right-hander has now gone at least six innings in five of his seven starts, and he's reached at least seven strikeouts six times.     • Paul Skenes dominates again in seven-strikeout gem
      Paul Skenes struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Monday in a win over the Reds.

      Advice: Skenes got into trouble in the opening frame when he surrendered a run-scoring double to Spencer Steer, but managed to escape the frame without any additional damage, and went on to limit Cincinnati’s lineup to just five baserunners over his final five innings of work. The electrifying 22-year-old rookie induced an eye-popping 18 swinging strikes in this one, including nine on his splinker alone, and finished with a near-elite 34 percent CSW. He’s recorded at least seven strikeouts in six of his first seven starts since arriving in the majors back in mid-May. He’s the real deal. He’ll bring a sparkling 2.29 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 53/7 K/BB ratio across 39 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a favorable matchup on Sunday against the strikeout-prone Rays.       Glasnow (7-5) picked up the win Sunday against Kansas City, allowing three hits and one walk with nine strikeouts across seven scoreless innings.

      Advice: Glasnow was exceptional Sunday, striking out at least nine batters for a third straight start and completing his first scoreless start since April 21. He didn't allow an extra-base hit in the outing and got into the win column for the first time in seven starts. Glasnow leads MLB with 125 strikeouts across 93 innings, and his ERA dropped from 3.24 to 3.00 after Sunday's start. The 30-year-old is tentatively scheduled to face the Angels his next time out.
