      Advice: Crochet has tossed 17 consecutive scoreless innings and earned a victory in each of his last four starts. While he fanned fewer than six batters for the first time in five starts, the 25-year-old retired the first 13 batters he faced. Since his ERA peaked at 6.37 on April 24, Crochet has yielded three runs over 28.0 innings to lower his ERA to 3.75 overall. He's lined up to close out the two-start week Sunday against the Orioles.     • Schmidt allows two earned in loss to Mariners
      Clarke Schmidt allowed two earned runs and four hits over five innings in the Yankees’ loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: The two earned runs Schmidt allowed came on a two-run homer by Dylan Moore on a pitch that was off the outside black of the plate. It was a well-thrown pitch that resulted in an unfortunate outcome for Schmidt, who was otherwise solid on the evening. He walked just two batters while striking out six and has now struck out six or more batters in seven of his 10 starts. Schmidt is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Padres.     • Crochet throws six scoreless innings vs. Blue Jays
      Garrett Crochet pitched six scoreless innings while striking out four in the White Sox’ win over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: You couldn’t have asked for a much better outing out of Crochet. While it wasn’t a dominating performance, the lefty held the Blue Jays’ lineup to just two hits, while walking only one batter. Crochet continues to be one of the few bright spots for the White Sox, as he’s now won five games on the season and is sporting an era of 3.75.     • Isaac Paredes drives in two on three-hit night
      Isaac Paredes went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

      Advice: Paredes singled home two runs in the bottom of the first to give the Rays an early lead. Unfortunately, it would be the only two runs the Rays would score on the evening, as the lineup remained limited for much of the afternoon despite Paredes’ three-hit night.     • Strikes out eight in win
      Yamamoto (5-1) earned the win Monday over the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out eight over 6.1 innings.

      Advice: Yamamoto was able to rebound after being not at his best last Monday versus the Giants. The rookie right-hander put together his fifth quality start in his last six outings, though the win was briefly endangered after Elieser Hernandez gave up a pair of solo home runs in the eighth inning. Yamamoto is at a 3.17 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB through 54 innings over 10 starts this season.       Henderson went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Cardinals.

      Advice: Henderson has homered in four straight games and continues to lead the majors with 16 long balls. The shortstop's sixth-inning blast off Sonny Gray was all the runs the Orioles could muster Monday. Henderson stumbled a bit in the middle of May, but he's quickly returned to form and is now sporting a .271/.351/.610 slash line with 34 RBI, 35 runs scored and seven stolen bases over 45 contests.       Helsley walked one and struck out none over a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Monday's 6-3 win over the Orioles.

      Advice: Helsley hadn't pitched since last Tuesday, but he didn't show much rust. The closer is on a 10-inning scoreless streak, and he's earned seven saves and a win in that span. For the season, he's 14-for-15 in save chances with a 2-2 record, a 1.29 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 23:3 K:BB over 21 innings. Helsley's strong pitching has helped him go unquestioned as the Cardinals' closer this year, though the team's 21-26 record leaves some doubt about whether he can keep picking up saves at such a strong pace.       Gray (6-2) allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.2 innings to earn the win Monday over the Orioles.

      Advice: Gray gave up a three-run blast to Gunnar Henderson in the sixth inning, but the Cardinals were able to maintain their lead after that. The long ball has become a problem for the veteran right-hander -- he's surrendered five homers while giving up 14 runs (12 earned) over his last 16.2 innings. He's still managed to win two of his three starts in that span. Gray is at a 2.87 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 59:10 K:BB through 47 innings across eight starts this season. He allowed all of eight homers in 32 starts last year, so it's worth keeping an eye on whether Gray can keep the ball down better moving forward.       Yainer Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Angels on Monday.

      Advice: Diaz was also robbed of a possible homer by Jo Adell at the right field wall in the ninth. That was actually his softest hit ball of the night. His EVs in the game were 110.7 mph, 107.8 mph, 103.7 mph and 98.4 mph. His hard-hit rate now stands at 51%, which is particularly impressive in combination with a 14% strikeout rate.
