• Battling bruised calf
Arrighetti was removed from Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals due to a left calf contusion, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Arrighetti took a 104-mph comebacker off his leg during the second inning of Tuesday's contest and was only able to get through the third frame before having to come out of the game. The 24-year-old righty doesn't appear to have suffered any serious damage, but the Astros will surely keep an eye on his calf as he gets closer to his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Monday against the Giants. • Robbie Ray strikes out three in rehab appearance
Robbie Ray (elbow) threw a scoreless inning on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Advice: Ray gave up a hit to Mariners top prospect Felnin Celestin, who is quickly emerging as one of the top fantasy prospects in baseball, but struck out the other three batters he faced in his first competitive inning since last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 32-year-old southpaw figures to be an option for San Francisco at some point around next month’s All-Star break. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
  • Max Fried strikes out 13 in win over Boston
Max Fried allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Fried also struck out 13 on the day while walking just one. He did give up a home run to Dominic Smith, but it was the only extra-base hit he allowed in the game. He got 21 whiffs on 50 swings for an impressive 42 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. This Red Sox lineup is clearly short-handed due to injuries, but Fried was masterful on Tuesday and now has a 2.93 ERA on the year. He should be in line for another good start against the Nationals this weekend. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Kutter Crawford has another rough start in loss
Kutter Crawford allowed six runs (four earned) on five hits in six innings in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: Crawford has now allowed 15 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings in his last three starts. However, those starts were also against the Brewers, Braves, and Orioles. He was never going to carry over the 1.75 ERA he had over his first eight starts, but he’s also not pitching as poorly of late as those earned runs totals would indicate. He induced 12 whiffs on 51 swings for a 24 percent whiff rate on the day and lines up for a much better start against the White Sox this weekend. He should still be rostered and started in almost all formats. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

  • Hit hard by Atlanta
Crawford (2-5) took the loss Tuesday against Atlanta, allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander surrendered three extra-base hits Tuesday, which resulted in five of the six runs scored by Atlanta while Crawford was on the mound. Ozzie Albies and Jared Kelenic came around to score after hitting doubles before Albies went yard on a three-run blast in the sixth inning. Tuesday's start was the latest in a rough patch for the 28-year-old, who's allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last five showings. During that span, Crawford is 0-4 with a 6.43 ERA across 28.0 innings. However, a road start against the White Sox on Sunday could be exactly what he needs to get back on track. • Cristopher Sánchez spins six frames in no-decision
Cristopher Sánchez allowed one run over six innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Advice: Sánchez gave up only four hits with a third-inning ground out from Andruw Monasterio representing the lone tally against him in this one. He struck out three and only issued one walk. The 27-year-old lefty has been a model of consistency this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in 11 of his 12 starts so far. He’ll bring a strong 2.71 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 59/21 K/BB ratio across 66 1/3 innings (12 starts) into a road matchup next Wednesday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago
  • Colin Rea hurls four frames in bulk relief outing
Colin Rea tossed four shutout innings on Tuesday in relief against the Phillies.

Advice: Rea took over after southpaw Jared Koenig recorded four outs to open the contest and wound up working into the late innings of an eventual extra-inning marathon. He scattered four hits and a pair of walks over his four frames of work. The 33-year-old righty has pitched well this season for Milwaukee, but it hasn’t translated into much for fantasy managers given his lack of strikeouts. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

  • Career day against BoSox
Fried (6-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Boston, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out 13.

Advice: Fried fanned a career-high 13 batters Tuesday, surpassing 10 Ks for the first time since 2019. The southpaw yielded his first long ball in five starts, as lefty-hitting Dominic Smith launched a solo homer in the third inning. Fried has logged a quality start in six of his last eight appearances, a stretch in which he owns a 1.57 ERA and a 55:13 K:BB over 57.1 innings. He's scheduled to face the Nationals in Washington on Sunday. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

  • Ryan Pepiot has quality start in win
Ryan Pepiot allowed three runs on six hits in six innings in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: Pepiot struck out eight and walked none and now has 15 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings over his last two starts. The 26-year-old earned 13 whiffs on his four-seam fastball and 17 whiffs overall on 52 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. His first season in Tampa Bay has been a success thanks in part to better fastball usage up in the zone. He’ll carry a 3.96 ERA into a tough start against the Orioles next week.
