• Selected to majors
The Athletics selected Nevin's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Advice: Nevin has slashed .296/.365/.667 at Triple-A since being DFA'd toward the end of May, and his resurgence in the minors has now allowed him to reclaim a spot on the A's. The 27-year-old has experience at the corner infield and corner outfield positions, and his versatility could allow him to start on a somewhat regular basis. J.D. Davis was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 2:17 pm

  • A’s bring back Tyler Nevin from Triple-A Las Vegas
Athletics selected the contract of INF Tyler Nevin from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Advice: Nevin is back in Oakland’s corner infield mix for Tuesday’s game against the Royals after spending the last few weeks back in the minors waiting for another opportunity at the highest level. He’s not much of a factor for fantasy managers outside of AL-only formats. Rotoworld Today, 2:13 pm

  • Athletics designate J.D. Davis for assignment
Athletics designated INF J.D. Davis for assignment.

Advice: Davis latched on with Oakland on a one-year, $2.5 million pact back in - after a highly-publicized contractual dispute with San Francisco, but winds up being jettisoned after posting a .670 OPS with four homers and five RBI in 135 plate appearances in 39 games. The 31-year-old has some appeal as a lefty-mashing bench specialist, but he’s pretty much a non-factor for fantasy purposes at this stage of his career. Rotoworld Today, 2:09 pm

  • Absent from Cubs lineup
Morel is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Morel has only one hit over his last five games and tough right-hander Logan Webb will take the ball Tuesday for San Francisco, so it's a sensible spot for a day off. David Bote is getting the call at third base while Morel regroups. Rotowire.com Today, 1:59 pm

  • Not in Tuesday's lineup
Walls (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Minnesota.

Advice: It's not clear whether Walls remains under the weather or if the Rays had planned to start Jose Caballero at shortstop in this one regardless. Walls has been the club's primary shortstop since coming off the injured list earlier this month. Rotowire.com Today, 1:52 pm

  • Taylor Walls remains out Tuesday with illness
Taylor Walls (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Twins.

Advice: Walls will sit out his third straight contest due to an ongoing illness, but we’re assuming he’ll be available off the bench in this one, if needed. The 27-year-old should be ready to roll in a couple days, if not sooner. Rotoworld Today, 1:41 pm

  • Three hits in Monday's loss
Clement went 3-for-4 in Monday's loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Getting the nod at third base and batting eighth, the utility infielder out together his fourth straight multi-hit performance in a starting role. Clement's gone 9-for-13 over that blistering stretch with three doubles, a homer, two RBI and three runs as he takes advantage of Bo Bichette's absence to due to a calf issue. Even when Bichette is cleared to return, Clement's hot streak will likely keep him in the starting lineup for a Blue Jays squad scrambling to find offense wherever it can. Rotowire.com Today, 7:32 am

  • Rengifo comes off bench day after wrist injury
Luis Rengifo came off the bench and struck out as a pinch-hitter Monday against the Brewers.

Advice: He then remained in to play two innings at third base. Rengifo didn’t start because of a wrist injury suffered Sunday, but it seems like he’ll be fine. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:01 pm

  • Report: A’s designating J.D. Davis for assignment
The A’s have decided to cut J.D. Davis, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Advice: This is the move to make room for Lawrence Butler. We’re hard-pressed to see how Davis is worse than Seth Brown or even Abraham Toro, who has been pretty terrible since the A’s decided to make him their leadoff man. Still, none of this really matters — none of these guys are going to be part of the next competitive A’s team — but Davis might help someone else down the stretch. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:31 pm
