• Homers in win
Lee went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-1 win over the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: Lee singled in the fourth inning then hit a solo home run off reliever Joey Wentz in the sixth. Lee is hitting just .194 in 62 June at-bats but has recorded multi-hit efforts in two of his past four games. On the season, he is slashing .246/.285/.393 with seven homers and 19 RBI in 183 at-bats. • Francisco Alvarez homers in second straight game
Francisco Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a solo homer on Saturday in the Mets’ one-sided defeat at the hands of the Cubs.

Advice: Alvarez supplied New York’s lone run in a blowout loss at Wrigley Field by taking Chicago starter Jameson Taillon deep in the fifth inning for his third round-tripper of the year. It was his second consecutive game with a homer after going without one in nine straight contests after returning from the injured list back on June 11. He hasn’t hit for a ton of power, but he’s batting an impressive .364 (12-for-33) with two homers and eight RBI this month. Rotoworld Saturday, 2:18 pm
  • Korey Lee has two hits, homers in win over Tigers
Korey Lee went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Saturday, lifting the White Sox to a 5-1 victory over the Tigers.

Advice: Lee’s sixth inning homer — his seventh big fly of the season — off Tigers reliever Joey Wentz gave Chicago a commanding four-run lead at the time, which they wouldn’t relinquish. It was a relatively quiet afternoon for both sides in this one as Kenta Maeda and Drew Thorpe managed to avoid hard contact pretty well into the middle innings. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:14 pm

  • Lands on IL
The Diamondbacks placed Moreno on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a sprained left thumb, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Moreno's X-rays came back negative after he exited Friday's game due to his injured thumb, but the damage seems to still be severe enough to warrant keeping him out for the next 10 days. While he recovers, Tucker Barnhart will take over as Arizona's primary catcher and Jose Herrera will come up from Triple-A Reno to provide additional depth at catcher. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:23 am

  • Diamondbacks put Gabriel Moreno (thumb) on IL
Diamondbacks placed C Gabriel Moreno on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb sprain.

Advice: Arizona has clearly opted not to take any chances here and will shut Moreno down for at least the next couple days after he was lifted from Friday’s game against the Phillies with a left thumb sprain. The 24-year-old backstop doesn’t appear to be facing a lengthy absence since X-rays came back negative for any fractures, but the Diamondbacks can’t really afford to play shorthanded at catcher. • Gabriel Moreno (thumb) not in Saturday’s lineup
Gabriel Moreno (thumb) is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Phillies.

Advice: Moreno has had a down year this season, relative to fantasy managers’ lofty expectations, on the heels of a stellar postseason at the dish. However, it would be a significant loss for Arizona if he winds up requiring a trip to the injured list. The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Moreno left Friday’s game against the Phillies with a left thumb sprain. He should be considered day-to-day for now. • Sitting down Saturday
Amaya isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Amaya will receive a day off Saturday after tallying a base hit in each of his last three games. His absence will allow Tomas Nido to make his first start behind the plate as a Cub. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:31 am

  • Homers in loss
Wong went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to Cincinnati.

Advice: Wong belted a solo home run in the second inning, his sixth of the season, and extended a hitting streak to 11 games (15-for-39). He's batting .335/.397/.471 for the season. There's no dramatic changes in his contact metrics to explain his breakout, and the BABIP (.395) warning signs are still there, but Wong has managed to avoid regression so far. • X-rays come back clean
X-rays came back negative on Moreno's thumb following Friday's game against the Phillies, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Moreno hurt his thumb on a slide early in Friday's contest but remained in the game long enough to tally his third homer of the season. He was ultimately pulled in the sixth inning. Manager Torey Lovullo noted after the contest that Moreno is likely to avoid the injured list, but the team will see how he is feeling Saturday before any final determination is made.
