      Logan Gilbert allowed two runs -- one earned -- with five strikeouts over seven innings in a loss against the Athletics on Wednesday.

      Advice: Gilbert had retired the first seven batters he faced before Zack Gelof took him deep for a solo homer in the third inning. A wild pitch and a passed ball error would bring a second run in to score for the A’s in the fifth. Gilbert would toss two more scoreless frames, but was saddled with the loss as the Mariners failed to get a run in. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 3.12 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and a 76/20 K/BB ratio across 83 2/3 innings into a start against the White Sox in Seattle on Monday.     • Jordan Hicks lasts just 3 2/3 frames vs. D-backs
      Jordan Hicks gave up two runs over 3 2/3 inefficient frames on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Hicks was all over the place in this one as he authored one of the more bizarre pitching lines of the season to date with seven strikeouts and four walks, while needing a staggering 92 pitches (51 strikes) to work into the fourth inning. The 27-year-old righty has exceeded expectations in his transition back to a traditional starting role, despite not working too deep into contests so far, posting a stellar 2.82 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 59/23 K/BB ratio across 67 innings (13 starts).     • Inefficient in no-decision
      Hicks came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks, giving up two runs on six hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: The right-hander did rack up some Ks, but Hicks needed 92 pitches (51 strikes) to record just 11 outs and got the hook before he could quality for a win. He's failed to complete six innings in seven straight trips to the mound, posting a 4.09 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB over 33 innings during that stretch.       Advice: Blanco held St. Louis to one run through his first four frames before surrendering three runs between the fifth and sixth innings. After starting the year 5-0, Blanco's now dropped back-to-back starts while allowing eight runs across 9.1 innings in that span. The 30-year-old right-hander still sports a solid 2.78 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP and 59:27 K:BB across 11 starts (64.2 innings) this year.       Advice: Devers opened the scoring with an opposite-field solo shot off Spencer Schwellenbach in the second inning before extending the Red Sox lead to 8-0 with a two-run blast off left-hander Ray Kerr in the seventh. The 27-year-old Devers is now 7-for-19 (.368) with three homers and six RBI in his last five contests.     • Rafael Devers homers twice in rout
      Rafael Devers homered twice, drove in three runs and walked Wednesday in the rout of the Braves.

      Advice: Devers took advantage of the Green Monster twice today, hitting his homers 358 and 361 feet to the opposite field. He’s 6-for-15 with three homers and six RBI in four games to begin June, and he’s tied for eighth in the AL with 13 homers overall. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:25 pm

      Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Hitting third against rookie lefty DJ Herz, Nimmo reached base three times in a game for the first time since May 5. The on-base machine is batting just .222 on the season, but he sports a .350 OBP thanks to a 13.4 percent walk rate, his highest mark since 2021.       The Orioles are considering pushing Bradish's next scheduled start back a day to Friday in Tampa Bay, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

      Advice: Cade Povich will join Baltimore's taxi squad and looks in line to be called up from Triple-A Norfolk to start against the Blue Jays on Thursday, which had been Bradish's turn. Bradish doesn't seem to be battling any physical issue, but rather the team is simply looking to give him a little extra rest.
