    • Spencer Steer goes deep in Friday’s loss to Tigers
Spencer Steer went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI on Friday night as the Reds fell to the Tigers in the opening game of their three-game weekend series.

Advice: Steer got the Reds on the board in the fifth inning with a mammoth 425-foot (106.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Reese Olson. He also plated a run with an RBI single off of Jason Foley in the ninth inning and scored on Nick Martini’s RBI triple. With his two-hit attack, the dynamic 26-year-old is now slashing .242/.334/.427 with 12 homers, 56 RBI and 13 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:37 pm

    • Luis García Jr. with four hits, home run
Luis García Jr. went 4-for-5 with a homer, two RBI, a run scored, a stolen base, and was caught stealing on Friday against the Cardinals.

Advice: García was a menace in this one. He had three of the Nationals’ six hardest hit balls and hit four over 99 MPH himself. He now has six hits, three homers, four runs scored, and six RBI over his last two games. A hot streak could be on the way. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm
    • Nicky Lopez plates two as White Sox filet Marlins
Nicky Lopez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a pair of doubles and two RBI on Friday night, leading the White Sox to a 3-2 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Lopez opened the scoring in the ballgame in the second inning with a run-scoring double off of Bryan Hoenig that scored Paul DeJong. He then added a ground-rule double in the fifth inning that plated Eloy Jimenez and would have driven in an additional run had the ball not taken an unfortunate bounce into the crowd. With his two-hit attack, the light-hitting second baseman is now hitting .247/.302/.292 with zero homers, 12 RBI and three stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:11 pm

    • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Brewers sent Miller outright to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Advice: Miller was dropped from Milwaukee's 40-man roster Monday but will remain with the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 27-year-old has slashed .257/.340/.377 through 200 plate appearances with the Sounds, and although he hasn't performed as well at the plate in the majors, his defensive versatility still gives him some value as an organizational depth piece. • Managing groin tightness
Torres exited Friday's game against the Red Sox due to right groin tightness.

Advice: Torres suffered a similar injury to his right groin a few weeks ago, and he seems to have aggravated the issue while legging out an infield single during Friday's contest. The Yankees don't have any plans in place to take him in for imaging at the moment, which suggests the team doesn't believe his latest flareup is anything too severe. However, it remains possible the 27-year-old sits out Saturday's contest as a precaution. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:45 pm

    • Gleyber Torres leaves game with groin tightness
Gleyber Torres was pulled from Friday’s contest against the Red Sox in the fourth inning due to right groin tightness.

Advice: It’s the same injury that has been bothering Torres for a while now, but the Yankees announced that they don’t believe it’s severe enough to require imaging. If that’s the case, it seems unlikely that he’ll require a trip to the injured list. For now, he should be considered day-to-day, but a lot may depend on how he’s feeling when he wakes up on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:29 pm

    • Jeff McNeil homers off Paul Skenes
Jeff McNeil went 1-for-3 with a solo home run on Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: McNeil is looking for any signs of life he can and going deep off Skenes is one. He had three hard-hit balls in total and can quickly become relevant again since he’s still in the Mets’ lineup nearly every game. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:23 pm

    • Exits with apparent injury
Torres was removed from Friday's game versus Boston with an apparent leg injury, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Torres came up limping after beating out an infield single in the fourth inning, and he was immediately replaced on first base by Oswaldo Cabrera. Torres missed a few games in June due to a groin issue. The details of his latest injury will come once the Yankees are able to take a closer look at him. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:55 pm

    • Athletics release veteran infielder Aledmys Díaz
      Athletics released INF Aledmys Díaz.

Advice: The 33-year-old infielder had been designated for assignment earlier in the week and predictably passed through waivers unclaimed. He’s now free to explore employment opportunities elsewhere if he so chooses. Díaz hit a paltry .103/.133/.103 in 29 at-bats with the Athletics this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:54 pm
