    • Homer, two hits in win
Verdugo went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 14-4 win over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Verdugo hit a two-run home run in the third inning and then singled and scored in the fifth. He hit just .219 with one homer in June but has registered two multi-hit efforts in his past three games and continues to hit in the middle of the Yankees lineup. The outfielder's current .246 average is well below his .277 career mark, but he has contributed 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 42 runs scored across 364 plate appearances in 2024. • Julio Rodríguez will undergo MRI on injured quad
Julio Rodríguez is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam after leaving Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to discomfort in his lower right quad area.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder looked uncomfortable while tracking a fly ball in the outfield during the top half of the first inning, then he was replaced by Ty France before he had a chance to take his first at-bat. The Mariners should have the results of his imaging before Sunday’s game, so expect another update on his status before then. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:38 pm

    • Dealing with quad issue
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays with discomfort in his lower right quad, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Rodriguez will undergo an MRI Saturday night.

Advice: Rodriguez was lifted from the contest in the second inning before making a plate appearance with what we now know was left quad soreness. Saturday's MRI should provide more information on the severity of the injury. The Mariners will close out its series with Toronto on Sunday before having a team off day Monday. • Yates picks up 13th save against Rays Saturday
Kirby Yates tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: The save was his 13th of the season since taking the closer job in April. Yates threw a perfect ninth inning in a one-run game. He’s been basically untouchable as his ERA is 0.86 on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:40 pm

    • Removed early Saturday
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rodriguez never made a plate appearance Saturday, and it's not immediately apparent why he had to come out of the game, but the Blue Jays should offer some more clarity soon. In the meantime, Luke Raley will move out to center field while Ty France mans first base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:35 pm

    • Picks up 14th steal
Henderson went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 3-2 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Henderson has usually made an impact with power, but he flashed his speed Friday. He stole third base and scored on an error following his leadoff single in the first inning. The shortstop is 16-for-46 (.348) over his last 11 games, lifting his season slash line to .288/.379/.599 through 87 contests. He's added 27 home runs, 14 steals, 60 RBI, 76 runs scored, 18 doubles and four triples. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:40 am

    • Sets career high in homers
Naylor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Naylor had some dry stretches in June, but he's turned it around by going 9-for-24 (.375) with six RBI over his last six games. The first baseman set a career high with his 21st homer of the year. He's added 64 RBI, 50 runs scored, three stolen bases, 16 doubles and a .246/.323/.505 slash line over 82 contests. He started the year hot before a shaky May and slightly better June, so he could still find another level in the second half. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:24 am
