    • Set for two more rehab starts
Manager Bud Black said Wednesday that Marquez (elbow) will make two more rehab starts with Double-A Hartford, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Advice: Marquez struggled heavily in his latest rehab outing at Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, allowing four earned runs in just two-thirds of an inning and throwing just 33 pitches. The 29-year-old righty was originally slated for just one additional start after Friday, but his abbreviated appearance will cause the Rockies to add another game to his rehab stint, ruling him out for a return to Colorado before the All-Star break. Since restarting his assignment June 12, Marquez has allowed eight earned runs in 8.2 innings while striking out 13 batters and walking three. Rotowire.com Today, 3:56 pm
    • German Marquez to be ready after All-Star break
Rockies’ manager Bud Black told reporters on Wednesday that German Marquez (elbow) is expected to make two more minor league rehab starts at Double-A Hartford.

Advice: If all goes well with those two outings, it sounds like the 29-year-old right-hander could be ready to join the Rockies’ rotation immediately following the All-Star break. Marquez — who is recovering from Tommy John surgery — has posted a 9.58 ERA, 2.03 WHIP and a 14/4 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings through his first five rehab outings. Rotoworld Today, 3:56 pm
    • Rays recall Justin Sterner from Triple-A Durham
Rays recalled RHP Justin Sterner from Triple-A Durham.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander has pitched well in two appearances with the Rays this season, posting a 2.25 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 4/1 K/BB ratio over his four innings of work. He’ll give manager Kevin Cash another option to deploy in the middle innings. Rotoworld Today, 3:42 pm
    • Back in big leagues
The Rays recalled Sterner from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: He will take the roster spot vacated by Aaron Civale, who has been traded to the Brewers. Sterner has made two appearances out of the Rays' bullpen this season, allowing two runs (one earned) with a 4:1 K:BB over four innings. He'll be used in low-leverage spots. • Mets recalled RHP Christian Scott from Triple-A
Mets recalled RHP Christian Scott from Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Scott is back in the majors to start against the Nationals on Wednesday. Matt Festa was designated for assignment as the corresponding move. Scott has a 3.90 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings in five starts with the Mets this year. He’s worth streaming in leagues with daily transactions. Rotoworld Today, 7:52 am

    • Summoned ahead of start
The Mets recalled Scott from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Scott is slated to start Wednesday against the Nationals and he could earn additional opportunities if he pitches well. The rookie right-hander has collected a 3.90 ERA and 25:6 K:BB over 27.2 innings in five starts with the major-league club this season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:50 am

    • Perfect for 18th save
Diaz picked up the save Tuesday against the Yankees, striking out one across a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Diaz only needed nine pitches to retire Trent Grisham, Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe in order Tuesday. Diaz has fired five consecutive scoreless innings and is up to 18 saves on the season, which is tied for eighth most in baseball. Despite the strong save total, Diaz owns a 4.60 ERA across 31.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:50 pm
    • Perfect in non-save outing
Finnegan struck out one over a perfect inning in Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Advice: Finnegan entered in the top of the ninth in a 2-2 game and fired a perfect frame. The 32-year-old has delivered four consecutive scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk over that stretch. Finnegan owns the third-most saves in baseball with 22. • Alexis Díaz earns a save in win over Yankees
Alexis Díaz pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn a save in a 5-4 win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: Díaz has now converted 11 straight save chances and has pitched to a 1.98 ERA in 14 2/3 innings over that stretch. However, some of the early command issues remain as Díaz has a 13.2 percent walk rate over that same span. He may remain volatile given his subpar command and he doesn’t miss as many bats as your typical closer, but he remains locked into the closer’s role on a solid team and will continue to rack up saves.
