    • Excellent production continues
Altuve went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo home run Friday against the Mets.

Advice: Altuve recorded his fourth consecutive multi-hit game and has maintained a .337 average across 23 games in June. His power has picked up of late, as he's now popped three homers in his last 10 starts while also swiping four bags in that span. Rotowire.com 2 minutes ago
    • Drawing closer to return
Diaz (calf) was running on the field and has made good progress in his recovery, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Bud Black seemed to offer a more positive outlook on Diaz's recovery than in recent days, though Black still declined to offer a timetable for Diaz's return. Positively, the manager did suggest that Diaz will not need a rehab assignment before being activated from the injured list. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

    • Takes loss Friday
Thompson (3-3) allowed three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out one over 1.1 innings, picking up the loss to Oakland on Friday.

Advice: Thompson got the final out of the seventh inning of a tie game then was the pitcher of record when the Diamondbacks took the lead. Usually, that means game over -- Thompson holds the lead then Paul Sewald closes it -- but that was not the case Friday. Thompson, who had allowed just four runs over 32 innings and leads Arizona with 11 holds, was roughed up in the eighth. He told Steve Gilbert of MLB.com that he couldn't make the adjustments needed to avoid throwing very hittable strikes. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
    • Three homers in four games
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the White Sox.

Advice: Toglia took Tanner Banks yard in the seventh inning of Friday's game, tallying his third home run in his last four games. He's started 20 consecutive matchups while splitting time between first base and designated hitter. In that span, Toglia has hit .247 with a 31.3 percent strikeout rate, though he's also managed five homers, 15 RBI and 12 runs scored. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago
    • Ready to return to lineup
Lowe (toe) went 0-for-1 with a strikeout Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: Lowe has been sidelined for five straight games with a fractured pinky toe, and Friday's appearance as a pinch hitter was his first since suffering the injury. However, manager Kevin Cash said that Lowe was physically capable of being a starter, but he remained on the bench due to a matchup against lefty Mitchell Parker, per MLB.com. Lowe wore a protective guard over his right cleat. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Sporadic playing time
DeLuca went 2-for-4 with a stolen base Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: DeLuca has been serving as the Rays' fourth outfielder, primarily getting playing time when a lefty is on the mound or when the team shifts Josh Lowe to designated hitter. He's started three of the team's last eight games in that role, though each of those starts came in the last five matchups. DeLuca hasn't made a strong case for more playing time by hitting just .163 across 138 plate appearances, though he did manage his sixth stolen base of the year Friday. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
    • Zac Gallen (hamstring) starting Saturday vs. A’s
Zac Gallen (hamstring) will start on Saturday against the Athletics.

Advice: Arizona manager Torey Lovullo confirmed late Friday that Gallen will take the ball for Saturday’s showdown against the Athletics after making it through a bullpen session earlier this week without any issues just a couple days after tossing a 67-pitch simulated game. The 28-year-old righty has been out since suffering a Grade 1 right hamstring strain back on May 30. It’s obviously an extremely favorable matchup for fantasy purposes and there shouldn’t be any limitations from a workload standpoint for Gallen in his return from the injured list. • Max Muncy (oblique) resumes swinging
Max Muncy (oblique) progressed to taking swings off a tee earlier this week.

Advice: Muncy isn’t eligible to return from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break in a couple weeks, but he’s starting to make some progress towards a second-half return. The veteran corner infielder’s recovery from a right oblique strain that he suffered back in mid-May has gone much slower than originally anticipated, and it’s certainly had a negative impact on the Dodgers’ overall offensive output. • Takes tough loss Friday
Miller (4-6) allowed three runs on three hits across an inning of work and took the loss Friday against the Angels. He struck out two.

Advice: Miller allowed two hits but had a chance to escape the eighth inning with no damage before he allowed a two-out, three-run home run to Logan O'Hoppe. The veteran righty had been pitching well this month with a 2.25 ERA across seven appearances, so this likely is just a blip on the radar. However, Miller does now have a subpar 4.62 ERA overall, which he'll work on lowering in the coming weeks. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago
