    • Wheeler goes seven, strikes out eight in win
      Zack Wheeler allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Phillies’ 12-1 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

      Advice: Wheeler gave up two hits, walked none and struck out eight. The win was his ninth on the year. It was a big time bounce back from Wheeler, who had allowed eight runs to the Orioles in his last start. He looked like his normal self while dominating the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Wheeler’s ERA is now 2.73 on the season. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Marlins at home next weekend.

    • Falls short of quality start
      Houck didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Toronto, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Houck ended up one out shy of a sixth consecutive quality start, getting pulled at 103 pitches after yielding an RBI single to Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Houck has struck out five or more batters in seven straight starts and owns a 4-2 record with a 2.17 ERA across 45.2 innings during that stretch.     • Logan Webb settles for no-decision against Cubs
      Logan Webb allowed two runs over seven innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Cubs.

      Advice: Webb coughed up a two-run homer to Dansby Swanson in the second inning on Tuesday evening at Wrigley Field, but managed to keep Chicago’s potent lineup off the scoreboard into the late stages of this one. He struck out five and only issued one walk. The 27-year-old righty has completed six frames in eight consecutive starts since May 10. He’ll bring a solid 2.99 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 82/21 K/BB ratio across 99 1/3 innings (16 starts) into a rematch on Monday against the Cubs back at Oracle Park. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:55 am

      Webb did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Cubs, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Webb collected his third consecutive quality start and 12th of the season with a solid 101-pitch outing. The San Francisco ace's only blemish of the game came in the second inning, when he allowed a 401-foot two-run home run to Dansby Swanson. With this outing, Webb pushed his ERA down to 2.99 over 99.1 innings this year.       Tanner Houck allowed two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s win over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Houck gave up two runs in the second after Ernie Clement laced a double to right to give the Blue Jays their first runs of the night. He would be pulled in the sixth after an RBI single by Isiah Kiner-Falefa, but things could’ve been much worse for Houck, who allowed nine baserunners on the evening while throwing 103 pitches.       Wheeler (8-4) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

      Advice: It was a long day for Wheeler, who allowed four homers after having previously allowed only six long balls over his first 14 starts this season. The eight earned runs allowed matched a career high for Wheeler, who hadn't given up that many in a start since 2018. Sunday's poor effort raised his ERA from 2.16 to 2.84. Wheeler had won his previous eight decisions prior to Sunday's loss, which dropped him to 8-4 on the season. He'll look to get back on track during his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Diamondbacks come to Philly for a rematch of last season's NLCS.     • Zack Wheeler bombarded by Orioles
      Zack Wheeler allowed eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Orioles. He struck out four and walked two.

      Advice: This was Wheeler’s worst start as a Phillie and the first time he’s allowed eight earned runs since 2018. Baltimore jumped on him with homers in each of the first three innings and then Jordan Westburg put the cherry on top with his three-run blast.
