    • Notches win Friday
Duran (2-2) allowed a walk over two scoreless innings Friday. He struck out one and earned a win over Oakland.

Advice: Duran kept the Athletics off the board in the ninth and 10th frames as the Twins eventually delivered the walk-off win. He's 2-0 with a hold over his last three outings since coughing up three runs against the Pirates on June 8. The 26-year-old righty has not picked up a save since June 2. For the season, Duran's ERA is down to 3.66 with a 17:8 K:BB and 10 saves through 19.2 innings. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago
    • Johan Duran secures victory against Athletics
Jhoan Duran picked up his second victory of the season on Friday evening, working two scoreless innings against the Athletics.

Advice: Duran came on to work the top half of the ninth inning in a tied game and kept the A’s off the board. He then returned for the 10th inning and retired the side in order, setting the stage for Max Kepler’s heroics. On the season, he now boasts a 3.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 17/8 K/BB ratio (19 2/3 innings) to go along with a pair of victories and 10 saves in 10 opportunities. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:44 pm
    • Jackson Holliday (elbow) lands on IL at Triple-A
Jackson Holliday was placed on the injured list at Triple-A Norfolk with right elbow inflammation.

Advice: The injury isn’t believed to be serious, and Holliday isn’t expected to miss much longer than the minimum stint on the injured list. The 20-year-old top prospect has hit .270/.433/.466 with seven homers, 28 RBI, five stolen bases and a 54/54 K/BB ratio over 245 plate appearances at Triple-A Norfolk this season. • To Triple-A IL with elbow injury
Holliday was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Norfolk on Friday with right elbow inflammation, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: It's not clear at this point how long the top prospect might be sidelined. While he's still drawing plenty of walks in June, Holliday has scuffled a bit overall this month, slashing .212/.422/.394. On the whole, he's hitting .252/.418/.429 with five homers in 40 games for Norfolk since being demoted. A return to the big leagues had not seemed imminent for Holliday, but certainly the injury will rule out the possibility for a while. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:04 pm

    • Hitting streak reaches 11
Reynolds went 1-for-5 with an RBI on Thursday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Reynolds hit a comebacker that glanced off Lance Lynn in the fifth inning to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. The outfielder has gone 15-for-46 in that span, while also tallying six RBI and five runs scored. Even with the strong stretch, Reynolds is hitting a mediocre .262 and also has a .160 ISO across 306 plate appearances this season -- the lowest mark of his career. • Logs another quality start in win
Houck (7-5) earned the win against the Phillies on Thursday, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: He tossed three scoreless innings then loaded the bases and surrendered a three-run double to Kyle Schwarber in a rough fourth. Houck rebounded with two more scoreless frames to earn his fifth straight quality start and received plenty of offensive support, as the Red Sox tagged Aaron Nola for eight runs. Houck has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in 13 of 14 starts and has been one of baseball's biggest breakouts so far in 2024. On the season, he owns a 2.08 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 89:15 K:BB in 91 innings. Houck lines up to start next week against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:40 pm

    • Houck gets seventh win against Phillies Thursday
Tanner Houck allowed three runs in six innings and got the win in the Red Sox’ 9-3 victory over the Phillies on Thursday.

Advice: Houck gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out five. The win was his seventh of the season. Houck has allowed more than three earned runs in a start only once in 14 starts this year. His ERA is now 2.08 on the season. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays on the road next week.

    • Idle Thursday
Smith isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Thursday versus the Rangers.

Advice: Smith will get some scheduled rest after starting in five consecutive games. In that span, the catcher went 5-for-19 with a homer versus the Yankees and Rangers. With the 29-year-old on the bench Thursday, Austin Barnes will start behind the dish and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:14 pm

    • Slow start to June
Holliday is hitting .182 with one home run, one steal, 12 walks and 12 strikeouts in 10 June games for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday is slashing .238/.407/.415 with five home runs, four steals, a 22.2 percent walk rate and a 24.3 percent strikeout rate in 40 games since being optioned to Triple-A on April 26. The Orioles could summon the 20-year-old middle infielder at any point, but his return to the big leagues in the coming weeks is more of a possibility than an inevitability. Due to the fact Holliday spent 16 days on the active roster in April, Baltimore would need to keep him in the minors until Sept. 1 while limiting him to 130 or fewer total at-bats in order to preserve his rookie eligibility heading into 2025.
