    • Jhoan Duran silences Mariners to net 12th save
Jhoan Duran fired a perfect ninth inning on Sunday against the Mariners to collect his 12th save of the season.

Advice: Duran turned in a scoreless outing for the 10th time in 12 appearances since the start of June as he needed just 19 pitches (13 strikes) to slam the door in this one. The hard-throwing 26-year-old righty has converted 12 of his 13 save opportunities this season to accompany a solid 3.51 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 23/8 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings (27 appearances). • Joe Ryan strikes out 10 in no-decision vs. M’s
Joe Ryan recorded 10 strikeouts and was charged with two runs (one earned) over 5 2/3 innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: Ryan delivered an outstanding performance on Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Park, generating 16 swinging strikes -- including 11 on his four-seam fastball alone -- and finished with a near-elite 36 percent CSW. He gave up six hits and didn’t hand out a free pass, although he did hit a pair of batters as well. The 28-year-old upper-echelon fantasy contributor recorded his second double-digit strikeout peformance of the season and will aim to keep the momentum going when he faces the Astros on Saturday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break. • Luis Castillo grabs a bat Sunday against Twins
Luis Castillo struck out three and allowed three runs over five innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Twins.

Advice: What a mess. Castillo was forced to grab a bat, and struck out looking in the fourth inning, after Seattle lost the designated hitter earlier in the contest when Mitch Haniger left the game following a hit by pitch. The 31-year-old righty was simply outdueled by Twins starter Joe Ryan, who limited the Mariners to just a pair of runs into the sixth inning before the bullpen took over and pretty much shut things down completely from there on out. He’ll bring a respectable 3.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 103/30 K/BB ratio across 104 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing on Friday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Today, 4:31 pm

    • Set to undergo additional imaging
Mize (leg) will undergo further tests on his left leg, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: After exiting Sunday's win over the Angels in the bottom of the sixth inning with a left leg injury, Mize will see what the extent of the damage is. In regards to if it was a cramp or not, the right hander said "that's what it felt like" and that he and the team will "see how the next couple of days play out." The severity of his injury will be determined once Mize receives the results of the imaging. Rotowire.com Today, 4:29 pm

    • Awarded another start
Festa is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Tigers at Target Field.

Advice: Tabbed as a replacement in the big-league rotation this past Thursday for the injured Chris Paddack (forearm), Festa surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and one walk and struck out just two batters but received enough run support to come away with a win against the Diamondbacks. Festa was cruising early in his debut and faced just one batter more than the minimum through three innings, but he began to unravel over his final two frames, when he allowed all seven of his hits. Festa may need a better showing in Minnesota against a weaker Detroit offense to ensure he gets additional turns through the rotation, as Caleb Boushley has been pitching well at Triple-A St. Paul and looms as an alternative as the Twins' No. 5 starter if Festa can't get the job done. • Launches grand slam
Turang went 2-for-5 with a grand slam in Sunday's win against the Cubs.

Advice: Turang took Kyle Hendricks deep with the bases loaded to put the finishing touches on a seven-run fourth inning for the Brewers. The 24-year-old has now hit two grand slams over the past eight days, giving him a career-best 37 RBI. The middle-infielder has enjoyed an exceptional breakout season, batting .292 with six home runs, 37 RBI, 40 runs scored and 28 stolen bases in 80 games played. Rotowire.com Today, 4:19 pm

    • Justyn-Henry Malloy homers, Tigers edge Angels
Justyn-Henry Malloy went 2-for-3 with an inside-the-park homer on Sunday, leading the Tigers to a 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Malloy has compiled cringe-inducing numbers this season since getting the call to the majors back in early June, but he made his presence felt in this one with a two-run, inside-the-park homer off Angels southpaw Tyler Anderson in the fourth inning. It was just his third big fly in 23 games so far in the big leagues as he’s also struck out 28 times in 73 plate appearances during that span. The 24-year-old was an on-base machine in the upper minors, but he’s still clearly a work in progress at the highest level. The big question will be how long the Tigers are going to be willing to let him continue to try to figure things out. Rotoworld Today, 4:07 pm

    • Jo Adell smacks two-run homer Sunday in loss
Jo Adell hammered a two-run homer on Sunday in the Angels’ loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Adell made things interesting in the ninth inning with a two-out homer off Tigers reliever Shelby Miller to bring the Halos within one run at the time, but their surreal comeback effort came up just short, and their six-game winning streak was also snapped in the process. The 25-year-old has cratered back to Earth in June after such a promising start to the year. He’s batting .139 (11-for-79) with two homers, one steal and 26 strikeouts since June 1. It’s not what you want. Rotoworld Today, 4:07 pm

    • Zach Neto demolishes three-run homer in loss
Zach Neto crushed a three-run homer on Sunday in the Angels’ loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Neto kick-started a ninth-inning rally for the Angels on Sunday afternoon that came up just short as they nearly erased a six-run deficit with five runs in the final frame. Neto played a pivotal role in the comeback with a 414-foot moonshot -- his 11th big fly of the season -- off Tigers reliever Shelby Miller. The 23-year-old former top prospect is quietly putting together an impressive full-season debut with a .738 OPS to go along with 11 homers and 11 steals in 300 plate appearances over 81 games.
