    • Logs three hits, two steals in win
Altuve went 3-for-5 with a run, an RBI and two stolen bases in an 8-2 victory versus Cleveland on Thursday.

Advice: Altuve continued his recent stretch of hot hitting, notching his third multi-hit effort over his past four contests. The veteran second baseman added a pair of thefts Thursday, and he's now swiped six bags over his past 15 games after failing to record a steal across his initial 16 contests of the campaign. Altuve ranks seventh among qualified hitters with a .352 average on the season and is tied for second with 45 hits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 pm

    • Jose Altuve tallies three hits, steal in victory
Jose Altuve went 3-for-5 with an RBI and also stole a base on Thursday, leading the Astros to an 8-2 victory over the Guardians.

Advice: Altuve’s latest three-hit performance, which also included a seventh-inning RBI single, boosted his batting average to a stratospheric .352 (45-for-128) mark through 31 games. The 33-year-old veteran also picked up his 299th career stolen base in this one. He’s managed to stay healthy and has been one of the most impactful contributors in the entire fantasy landscape this season. Unreal. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:17 pm

    • Back in action Thursday
Anderson (thumb) will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Thursday's game versus the Rockies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Anderson missed two starts with a mild left thumb sprain, which he suffered during Monday's 7-2 loss to the Nationals. The Marlins were hoping for a bounce-back season from the veteran shortstop following a disastrous 2023 campaign, but Anderson has actually been worse so far in 2024, slashing a mere .221/.267/.253 over 29 games. • Jackson Merrill goes hitless Wednesday in victory
Jackson Merrill went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Wednesday in the Padres’ win over the Reds.

Advice: Don’t look now, but Merrill has gone 0-for-19 in six contests over the last week. The 21-year-old top prospect looked extremely impressive at the outset of the season in his Padres debut, but has hit a frosty stretch at the dish of late, which also coincides with a nagging groin issue that he’s been playing through. It’s entirely possible he’s not close to 100 percent at the moment, which is impacting his on-field results. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:46 pm

    • Kenta Maeda fans six, gets first victory
Kenta Maeda limited the Cardinals to one run in six innings and struck out five in the Tigers’ 4-1 victory Wednesday.

Advice: It’s his first win in six tries this season. Pitching with a couple of extra days of rest, Maeda had a little more velocity today, topping out at 91.6 mph, and he wound up with a nice 34% CSW in the 79-pitch outing. He’ll pitch in Cleveland next time out, making him a mediocre mixed-league play. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:08 pm

    • Tim Anderson scratched from Wed. lineup
Tim Anderson has been scratched from Wednesday’s lineup due to a mild left thumb sprain.

Advice: Anderson is now out of the Marlins’ lineup in consecutive games after he left Monday’s game with a thumb injury. The team said he’s out today as a precautionary measure, so hopefully the 30-year-old is back in the lineup in the coming days. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:01 pm

    • Scratched from lineup
Anderson (thumb) has been scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Rockies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Anderson's sprained left thumb is still a little sore, so he will miss a second straight start. The Marlins are calling Anderson's removal from the lineup precautionary, so consider him day-to-day. Vidal Brujan will fill in again at shortstop Wednesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:00 pm

    • Sharp against Cards
Maeda (1-1) earned the win Wednesday against St. Louis, allowing one run on four hits over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: A Willson Contreras solo home run in the fourth inning was the lone mark against Maeda on Tuesday as the veteran right-hander cruised to his first win with the Tigers. After a brutal start to the year, Maeda's now allowed just one run on seven hits and no walks in his last two outings (11 innings). He's lowered his ERA to 5.02 with a 1.22 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB across six starts this season. Maeda will look to keep his momentum going in his next outing, currently lined up for early next week in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:48 pm

    • Cleared to start Wednesday
Anderson (thumb) will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Anderson was out of the lineup for Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning win due to a left thumb sprain, but he was able to enter the contest as a pinch runner in the bottom of the 10th and ended up scoring the game-tying run. He's now ready to reclaim his usual spot in the infield, after Vidal Brujan drew the start at shortstop Tuesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:23 pm
