      Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters Friday that Trea Turner (hamstring) remains without a definitive timetable to return.

      Advice: Turner suffered a minor setback in his recovery from a left hamstring strain earlier this week when he experienced leg soreness following a high-intensity workout. He managed to resume fielding grounders and also did some light jogging prior to Friday’s game against the Cardinals, but doesn’t appear close to running the bases again, which would be his final hurdle prior to a minor league rehab assignment. It’s a frustrating situation for fantasy managers, but the Phillies can’t really afford to rush him back and risk another setback. At this point, a mid-June return seems like a best-case scenario.     • Hit hard in Friday's loss
      Maeda (2-2) took the loss Friday as the Tigers fell 7-3 to the Red Sox, coughing up five runs on eight hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: It could have been a lot worse for the veteran right-hander. While five of the eight hits he surrendered went for extra bases, three of them were doubles high off the Green Monster that nearly left Fenway Park completely. Maeda took a big step back after blanking the Blue Jays over five innings in his first start off the IL back on May 24, but Friday's performance was more in line with his 2024 campaign so far. Maeda will take a 6.25 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB through 40.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week against the Rangers. Rotowire.com Today, 5:41 am

      Marte went 2-for-4 with a triple, four RBI, a run scored and a walk in Friday's win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Marte ripped a bases-clearing triple in the first inning and followed it up with an RBI single in the fourth. After a 3-for-19 slump over nine games, he closed out May with three straight multi-hit performances.       Yelich went 5-for-6 with a stolen base, two doubles, five RBI and one run scored in Friday's win against the White Sox.

      Advice: Yelich collected his first five-hit game of 2024 and fifth of his career, achieving the feat for the first time since Aug. 17, 2019. The former MVP has been resurgent since returning from a back injury May 8, hitting .321 (25-for-78) with one homer, six stolen bases, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored.       Christian Yelich went 5-for-6, drove in five runs and stole a base in a 12-5 win over the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: The Brew Crew were able to pick up 23 hits and six walks against the overmatched White Sox. Yelich was responsible for nearly a quarter of those, and two of them were double, giving him six on the season. The steal was the eighth, and Yelich continues to impress when on the field in 2024 with a .325/.406/.564 slash. It’s fun to see a the MVP version of Yelich thus far.     • Kenta Maeda struggles in loss to Red Sox on Friday
      Kenta Maeda struggled in Friday night’s loss to the Red Sox, giving up five runs on eight hits over his 4 2/3 innings.

      Advice: On the plus side, Maeda was able to punch out six batters on the night while allowing just two walks. He was able to keep the Red Sox off the board through the first three innings, but they broke through for four runs in the fourth inning — including a three-run blast off the bat of Ceddanne Rafaela. Maeda got 11 swings and misses on 85 pitches on the evening, registering a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to improve upon a troublesome 6.25 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and a 30/12 K/BB ratio (40 1/3 innings) when he toes the slab against the Rangers in Arlington on Wednesday.       The Dodgers reinstated Phillips (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Phillips was forced onto the injured list May 5 after suffering a right hamstring strain. He's since thrown 1.2 innings of shutout ball while striking out three batters and walking none during a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 29-year-old right-hander should immediately reclaim his spot as the Dodgers' closer, a role he thrived in prior to getting injured.       Advice: The 29-year-old closer finally returns to the Dodgers’ bullpen after landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. While Daniel Hudson and Blake Treinen did a nice job in his absence, expect Phillips to jump right into the team’s ninth-inning role.
