      Paul Skenes improved to 3-0 after allowing three runs in five innings and striking out eight Wednesday against the Dodgers.

      Advice: Skenes surrendered homers to Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages, matching his total of two allowed in his first four starts, but he once against received ample run support from a Pirates offense that has often scuffled for, well, going on 30 years now. The team has scored 10, nine, six, 10 and nine runs in Skenes’ five starts. That’s 11 more runs in five games than the 33 runs totaled in Jared Jones’ 12 starts this season.     • Andy Pages hits sixth homer against Pirates
      Andy Pages went 2-for-4 and hit his sixth homer against the Pirates on Wednesday.

      Advice: Pages seems to have gotten it back together lately, which is huge for him. James Outman has been tearing it up in Triple-A and is the better defensive center fielder, so Pages might have been due to head back to the minors if not for him going 11-for-22 in his last seven games.     • Cleared to start Saturday
      Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Wednesday that Suarez (thumb) has been cleared to start Saturday's game against the Mets in London, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "I think so," Thomson said ,when asked if Suarez would make his next scheduled start. "It looks like it. I believe we can line him up."

      Advice: Suarez didn't throw a bullpen session Wednesday like Thomson intimated would be the case Tuesday, but the southpaw played catch for the second day in a row and appears to be feeling fine. He'll throw a light bullpen session Friday, but the Phillies are seemingly already banking on Suarez being available without restriction for the first of two games in London, with Taijuan Walker set to take the hill for the Sunday contest. Suarez was removed from his most recent start this past Saturday against the Cardinals after taking a comebacker to his left thumb.     • Francisco Lindor leaves the yard in rout of Nats
      Francisco Lindor went 2-for-5 with a homer and a pair of runs scored on Wednesday as the Mets routed the Nationals in Washington.

      Advice: The dynamic 30-year-old shortstop went back-to-back with Luis Torrens off of Patrick Corbin in the sixth inning, with his 428-foot (109.3 mph EV) bomb increasing the Mets’ lead to 4-0. He also led off the seventh inning with a single and scored as J.D. Martinez bounced into a double play.       Advice: Suarez had been slated to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, but he instead played catch for the second straight day. The change of plans doesn't appear to have resulted in him being pushed back in the Phillies' pitching schedule, as the southpaw remains on track to make his next start this weekend.       Williams (elbow) struck out five over 2.1 innings and allowed three earned runs on three hits and two walks Tuesday in his second rehab start with Triple-A Columbus.

      Advice: After covering just one inning and tossing 32 pitches while giving up two runs in his first rehab start with Columbus last Thursday, Williams upped his pitch count to 46 (29 strikes) Tuesday. Williams' control has wavered a bit over his first two rehab outings, but so long as he avoids any further setbacks with his right elbow, he should remain on track to return from the 60-day injured list at some point later this month.       Advice: The 23-year-old superstar took Triston McKenzie deep in the third and fourth innings to help stake the Royals to an early 5-0 lead, but Seth Lugo and the bullpen couldn't make it hold up.       Imanaga allowed five runs (one earned) on seven hits and struck out six without walking a batter over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: Christopher Morel's fielding error in the fourth inning was costly, as the White Sox rallied against Imanaga. The southpaw ultimately exited in the fifth after just 69 pitches (48 strikes), and the Cubs rallied to get him off the hook. After a historically strong first nine major-league starts, Imanaga has been tagged for 12 runs (eight earned) over 8.2 innings in his last two appearances. He's now at a 1.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 65:10 K:BB over 62.1 innings. His control remains sharp, so it's likely this recent poor stretch is just a bit of regression that he'll have to work through.
