      Imanaga allowed five runs (one earned) on seven hits and struck out six without walking a batter over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: Christopher Morel's fielding error in the fourth inning was costly, as the White Sox rallied against Imanaga. The southpaw ultimately exited in the fifth after just 69 pitches (48 strikes), and the Cubs rallied to get him off the hook. After a historically strong first nine major-league starts, Imanaga has been tagged for 12 runs (eight earned) over 8.2 innings in his last two appearances. He's now at a 1.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 65:10 K:BB over 62.1 innings. His control remains sharp, so it's likely this recent poor stretch is just a bit of regression that he'll have to work through.       Shota Imanaga allowed one earned run in 4 1/3 innings while striking out six in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Imanaga, who didn’t earn a decision in this one, allowed just two base runners through his first three innings but ran into trouble in the fourth after back-to-back singles by Andrew Vaughn and Luis Robert Jr. kickstarted what turned into a five-run inning for the White Sox. Imanaga was charged with just one earned run on the night, but the White Sox did their part to get to him early. A double by Korey Lee would put the White Sox up 3-0, but Lenyn Sosa’s two-run homer just a few batters later quickly pushed that lead to 5-0.     • Ranger Suárez trending towards starting in London
      Ranger Suárez (thumb) played catch on Tuesday without any issues or limitations.

      Advice: Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters Suárez is slated to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday and is trending towards taking the ball this weekend in London against the Mets. The 28-year-old southpaw is reportedly feeling much better of late after being hit by a comebacker last Saturday against the Cardinals.       Advice: He gave a thumbs-up to reporters afterward, and Phillies manager Rob Thomson was similarly upbeat about how Suarez checked out during Tuesday's workout. Suarez will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, and assuming that goes well, he's expected to be cleared to start against the Mets this weekend in London.       Advice: Skubal surrendered a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien in the first inning but held the Rangers in check over the next five and left the mound in a 1-1 tie. Skubal allowed at least one baserunner in each inning, but he was still able to earn a quality start despite not having his best stuff.       Tarik Skubal allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

      Advice: Skubal gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six. He managed to earn a quality start for the ninth time in 12 starts this season. Skubal allowed a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien, but that was the only run the Rangers could muster against him. His ERA is now 1.97 as he continues to push for the AL Cy Young award.       Gallen (hamstring) will begin a throwing progression Tuesday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

      Advice: Gallen appears to have his sights set on returning from the injured list when first eligible after being diagnosed with a right hamstring strain Friday.     • Set for bullpen session Wednesday
      Manager Rob Thomson said Monday that Suarez (hand) will play catch Tuesday and throw a bullpen session Wednesday before the Phillies decide on the left-hander's next step, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Suarez was forced out after just two innings in his most recent start against the Cardinals on Saturday, when he took a 106.1 mile-per-hour line drive off his pitching hand. X-rays cleared Suarez of any structural damage, but he's still dealing with some bruising and swelling that could present some difficulty for the southpaw in commanding his full arsenal. The upcoming bullpen session will represent an important test for Suarez in showing the Phillies' coaching and training staffs that the injury won't affect his pitching. At this stage, Thomson said that Suarez remains in play for his next turn through the rotation, which falls during the Phillies' two-game series with the Mets in London this weekend.       Brown (1-2) allowed five runs on six hits across five innings to take the loss Sunday against the Reds. He walked one and struck out six.

      Advice: Brown actually pitched decently, but he was done in by a three-run home run by TJ Friedl and a lack of run support in the 5-2 loss. The five runs allowed are the rookie's most since he gave up six in his MLB debut back on March 30. Outside of the few hiccups, Brown has been pretty solid, and he's still sitting with a strong 3.33 ERA across 51.1 innings to go along with 61 strikeouts. The righty is penciled in to start again on Saturday against this same Cincinnati squad, though the pending return of Jordan Wicks (forearm) could push Brown out of the rotation after that.
