    • Shohei Ohtani steals base, drives in run in loss
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with an RBI and stolen base Friday against the Mets.

Advice: That swipe is already the fifth of the season for Ohtani. The RBI came in the fifth inning on a run-scoring single. The two-time MVP has been just dandy with the bat in his first season with the Dodgers with a slash of .356/.400/.622 across 90 at-bats through the first 22 games of 2024. • Adley Rutschman swats grand slam in loss to Royals
Adley Rutschman went 3-for-5 with a grand slam in a 9-4 loss by the Orioles to the Royals on Friday.

Advice: With the Orioles trailing 6-0, Rutschman got the Orioles back into the game with a bases-loaded blast off Will Smith in the seventh inning. The 26-year-old has now homered twice in 2024, and he’s up to 11 RBI over the first 18 games. Rutschman may never be an elite power option, but this is obviously not a dink-and-dunk hitter, either. • Dean Kremer gives up pair against Royal
Dean Kremer was charged for three runs in 5 2/3 innings of work while picking up a loss to the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Kremer allowed just two hits, but he also walked three with only three strikeouts while throwing 50-of-91 pitches for strikes. He was able to hold Kansas City scoreless for the first three innings, but he allowed a solo homer to Vinnie Pasquantino in the fourth, and two more runs were charged to his account in the sixth. Kremer was better than his awful start Saturday against Milwaukee, but he was nowhere close to dominant. He gets the Angels next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:29 pm
    • Alec Marsh blanks Orioles into sixth inning
Alec Marsh didn’t allow a run while striking out six over 5 2/3 innings against the Orioles on Friday to pick up a victory.

Advice: Marsh allowed just three hits with two walks. The right-hander gave up just one extra-base knock — a double by Antony Santander — in what was one of the best starts of the 25-year-old’s career. Marsh has now made two starts against Baltimore this year, and he’s allowed one run over 12 2/3 innings in those outings. He’ll try and replicate this success against the Blue Jays next week. • Improves to 2-0
Lodolo (2-0) earned the win Friday over the Angels, allowing one run on seven hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: While not as dominant as his first outing this year, Lodolo turned in an incredibly efficient performance against the Angles, needing just 80 pitches to make it into the seventh inning en route to a second win in as many starts. The 26-year-old southpaw has allowed just one run through his first 12 innings this year after he pitched to a 6.29 ERA across seven starts in an injury-plagued 2023 campaign. Lodolo is slated for a tougher matchup against the Phillies in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:59 pm

    • Nick Lodolo holds Angels to one run in victory
Nick Lodolo limited the Angels to one run in 6 1/3 innings in the Reds’ 7-1 victory Friday.

Advice: Lodolo struck out six and walked none in his second straight excellent outing since coming off the injured list last week. Health remains a question mark, but he looks like he’s going to be very good if his body holds up. He’ll get the Phillies next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:13 pm

    • Day off Friday
Springer isn't in the Blue Jays' lineup for Friday's game against San Diego.

Advice: Springer will catch a breather after going 2-for-10 with four walks during Toronto's previous series against the Yankees. While he sits, Cavan Biggio will shift to right field, allowing Davis Schneider to pick up a start at second base while batting fourth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:37 pm
    • George Springer not in Blue Jays’ lineup on Friday
George Springer is not in the Blue Jays’ starting lineup for Friday night’s soiree against the Padres.

Advice: It appears to be just a routine night off for the 34-year-old outfielder. Cavan Biggio will start in his place in right field and will bat seventh against Padres’ knuckleballer Matt Waldron. Expect Springer to be back in there on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:33 pm
    • Out of Friday's lineup
Marsh is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Marsh started the previous four games, including one start against a left-handed pitcher, but he'll take a seat Friday as Garrett Crochet pitches for Chicago. Whit Merrifield will man left field and bat seventh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:20 pm
