      Urquidy underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The Astros had only described Urquidy's surgery as "season-ending" prior to the operation, but it's now likely the 29-year-old righty remains out until the second half of the 2025 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career.       Abner Uribe was placed on the IL at Triple-A Nashville because of a right knee injury.

      Advice: The Brewers will know more after he has an MRI next week. Uribe opened the year as the Brewers’ primary closer, but he was sent down May 1 after amassing a 6.91 ERA in 14 1/3 innings.       Thompson (illness) was activated from the 15-day injured list Friday and was optioned to Triple-A Iowa, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

      Advice: Thompson has been recovering from a viral illness since mid-May and was rehabbing with Triple-A Iowa this week. While he's over the illness, he'll stick around in the minors, where he started this season.
