      Fried (2-1) took the loss Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over seven innings.

      Advice: Fried quickly surrendered a two-run homer to Shohei Ohtani in the opening frame. He was able to settle in thereafter, blanking the Dodgers over the next four innings before Teoscar Hernandez got a hold of one in the sixth to make it a 4-0 ballgame. Sunday was Fried's first outing this year giving up multiple home runs, but he's also gone at least six innings in three straight while striking out at least six in all three appearances.       Burger (oblique) joined the Marlins in Los Angeles and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

      Advice: On the shelf since April 15 with a left intercostal strain, Burger looks to have checked out fine after completing the final phase of his recovery process this past week, when he joined Triple-A Jacksonville for a rehab assignment. He played in three games for Jacksonville, going 3-for-11 with two runs, two walks and one RBI in addition to playing nine innings at first base and 18 innings at third base. Once activated, Burger should immediately settle back in as the Marlins' everyday option at the hot corner, resulting in Vidal Brujan and Emmanuel Rivera losing out on playing time.       Carroll went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 11-4 win over San Diego.

      Advice: Carroll delivered a two-run single as part of Arizona's four-run first inning, snapping a 16-game drought without an RBI. He's hit in five of the last six games (6-for-22), which is a positive sign for the slumping outfielder, but Carroll's bat still lacks impact.       Advice: Fried pitched well enough on the day, striking out seven and walking three while posting a 20 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW. He didn’t have his best command and had a zone rate under 50 percent on the day, but he avoided major damage until giving up a two-run home run to Teoscar Hernandez in the sixth inning.       Advice: Despite not tallying a hit, Caballero was all over the basepaths, reaching thrice via walk and becoming the third player since 2020 to accumulate four steals in a game. One of those swipes came in the 10th inning when he stole third after beginning the frame as the designated runner. He then scored on a walk-off triple by Jonny DeLuca.       Jose Caballero stole four bases and scored three runs without recording a hit Sunday against the Mets.

      Advice: Only against the Mets. Caballero walked three times today and also got a steal as the automatic runner in the 10th inning. He’s just the second player this millennium to steal four bases without getting a hit; Everth Cabrera did so for the Padres in 2012. Caballero leads the AL with 13 steals in 18 tries this season.       Dansby Swanson walloped his fourth home run of the season on Sunday as the Cubs shut out the Brewers at Wrigley Field.

      Advice: Swanson crushed a 399-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Thyago Viera in the sixth inning, extending the Cubs’ lead to 4-0. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. The 30-year-old infielder has had a rough go at the plate through the first month-plus of the 2024 campaign — slashing .220/.287/.358 to go along with four homers, 12 RBI and four stolen bases.       Advice: The hot-hitting 24-year-old third baseman capped off the scoring in the contest with a two-out RBI single off of Janson Junk in the seventh inning. He also walked three times in the ballgame, but the Cubs were never able to cash him in.       Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that LeMahieu (foot) recently resumed hitting but that the veteran infielder may not be "that close to being ready for rehab [games]," Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: The 35-year-old was shut down for a week in late April after he experienced swelling in his foot during a rehab game, and he's now back to taking part in baseball activities.
