    • Suffers wrist contusion
      Rengifo suffered a left wrist contusion in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Giants, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. He went 1-for-2 with a run scored prior to his departure.

      Advice: Rengifo took a line drive single from Matt Chapman off his left arm in the bottom of the fourth inning while playing third base, exiting the contest thereafter. The 27-year-old underwent X-rays, which showed just a contusion, and he said that he expects to play Monday against the Brewers. Rengifo can be considered day-to-day for the time being.       Luis Rengifo (wrist) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he expects to play on Monday.

      Advice: Rengifo was pulled from Sunday’s game after being drilled in the wrist by a ball off the bat of Matt Chapman. He did undergo precautionary X-rays that ruled out any fractures though and was diagnosed with a left wrist contusion. While he wants to play on Monday, it’s possible that the Angels give him an extra day off to rest. He won’t be looking at any sort of extended absence though. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:10 pm

      Luis Rengifo was diagnosed with a left wrist contusion after being hit by a batted ball during Sunday’s contest against the Giants.

      Advice: Presumably, he has already undergone imaging that ruled out any fractures, but the announcement from the Angels was simply that he was dealing with a left wrist contusion.       Luis Rengifo was pulled from Sunday’s game against the Giants after injuring his left wrist in the fourth inning.

      Advice: A hard-hit ball off the bat of Matt Chapman deflected off of Rengifo’s wrist at third base and he immediately went down in pain.       Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored Saturday against Colorado.

      Advice: Gonzales tallied Pittsburgh's first run of the game with a solo home run in the fourth inning, his fifth long ball of the season.       Merrill went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Saturday in a loss to the Mets.

      Advice: Merrill produced the only Padres run with a solo shot to center field in the fifth inning. The rookie has homered in three straight contests, belting four total long balls over that span. Merrill has also notched at least one hit in nine of his past 10 games and is batting .351 (13-for-37) with eight extra-base hits, six RBI, seven runs and two steals during that stretch.       Nick Gonzales homered and drove home two runs in a loss to the Rockies on Saturday.

    • Jackson Merrill power binge continues in loss
      Jackson Merrill went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.

      Advice: Merrill launched a 411-foot blast against Jose Quintana for his seventh home run of the season. The rookie now has four home runs in his last three games. All of them have also been solo shots. Merrill was billed as primarily a batting average asset who wouldn’t provide much power, so it’s nice to see him starting to show some pop.       Merrill went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Mets.

      Advice: The 21-year-old went yard for the third time in the last two games, accounting for all of the Padres' offense on the night with a fifth-inning shot off Sean Manaea. Merrill seems to have flipped a switch in June -- over the last nine games, he's batting .353 (12-for-34) with four doubles, three homers, two steals, five RBI, six runs and an impressive 8.3 percent strikeout rate.
