    • Fires six shutout innings
Peralta allowed four hits and two walks over six scoreless frames in a no-decision Friday. He struck out seven in the win over St. Louis.

Advice: Peralta was in line for his third win of the year before the Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. The 27-year-old has been terrific to begin the 2024 campaign, registering a 1.90 ERA with a 33:4 K:BB over 23.2 frames. He's forced double-digit whiffs in each of his four starts this season, including 13 on Friday. Peralta is lined up to start in Pittsburgh next week. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago

    • Freddy Peralta fans seven over six scoreless
Freddy Peralta struck out seven over six scoreless innings against the Cardinals on Friday in a no-decision.

Advice: Another impressive outing for Peralta. The 27-year-old didn’t have his best control with just 56-of-100 pitches going for strikes, but he also walked just two while scattering four hits. This is the first scoreless affair for the right-hander in 2024, but he has allowed no more than a run in three-of-four starts while improving his K/BB to 33/4 and lowering his ERA to 1.90. That’ll work. Peralta is back on the bump against the Pirates next week. Rotoworld Today, 8:19 pm

    • Chris Sale strikes out seven in win over Rangers
Chris Sale pitched seven innings of three-run ball in a victory over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: The leadoff homer from Marcus Semien seemed ominous, but Sale had the slider worked tonight and used it 40 times with a 45% CSW in the 89-pitch outing. He’ll take a 2-1 record and a 4.38 ERA into his next start versus the Marlins. Rotoworld Today, 7:28 pm

    • Homer, three steals in win
De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, three stolen bases and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-1 victory over the Angels.

Advice: De La Cruz turned a two-out single into the Reds' first run in the second inning, stealing second base before swiping third and scoring on an errant throw. The 22-year-old shortstop would add a third stolen base in the fourth before breaking the game open with a three-run homer off Jose Cisnero in the eighth. De La Cruz has lived up to expectations early this year -- he's now slashing .290/.364/.638 with six homers, 18 runs scored and 14 RBI while going 10-for-12 in stolen base attempts. • Elly De La Cruz homers, steals three bases
Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and three stolen bases Friday against the Angels.

Advice: The astonishing thing isn’t that De La Cruz has six homers and 10 steals already; that was always a possibility. No, what’s stunning is that he’s still batting sixth! Reds manager David Bell hit him second all spring, surprised everyone by dropping him to sixth on Opening Day and has since refused to budge, even though De La Cruz has been the Reds’ best hitter in batting .290/.364/.638. De La Cruz will surely slump at some point, but this is a whole lot of fun right now. Rotoworld Today, 6:12 pm

    • Dansby Swanson leads Cubs past Marlins on Friday
Dansby Swanson singled, doubled, scored twice, drove in a run and drew a walk on Friday afternoon, helping to lead the Cubs to an 8-3 victory over the visiting Marlins.

Advice: The 30-year-old shortstop delivered a two-out, run-scoring double off of A.J. Puk in the first inning that extended the Cubs’ early lead to 2-0. He then worked a walk in the third inning and scored on a two-run double by Miguel Amaya. Swanson also smacked a leadoff single to start the fifth inning and came around to score on an RBI knock off the bat of Mike Tauchman. With his two-hit day, Swanson is now slashing .254/.325/.408 to go along with two homers, eight RBI and a pair of stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Today, 5:03 pm

    • Idle against lefty
Outman isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Friday's game versus the Mets.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Outman will take a seat Friday as the Mets prepare to send southpaw Sean Manaea to the mound for the start of the game. Chris Taylor, Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernandez will start across the outfield while Outman watches from the dugout. Rotowire.com Today, 3:32 pm

    • Held out again Friday
Candelario (illness) remains out of the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Angels.

Advice: There's a bug going around the Reds' clubhouse, as Christian Encarnacion-Strand will also miss a second straight game. Santiago Espinal will be at third base Friday. Rotowire.com Today, 11:11 am

    • Goes deep Wednesday
Santander went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Santander has gone 3-for-18 over his last five contests. That's not a great stretch, but so far, he's in little danger of losing playing time as manager Brandon Hyde gets creative to keep Colton Cowser in the lineup. Santander is batting .203 with four homers, 15 RBI, nine runs scored, two doubles and no stolen bases through 74 plate appearances as the Orioles' primary right fielder.
