Nestor Cortes struggles in no-decision on Sunday
Nestor Cortes struggled in a no-decision against the Giants on Sunday afternoon, giving up three runs on seven hits over his 4 1/3 innings of work.
Advice: On the plus side for fantasy managers, Cortes did manage to record seven punchouts in the ballgame and didn’t walk a batter. Most of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Heliot Ramos launching a solo homer in the third inning and Casey Schmitt following suit in the fourth. Cortes got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches in the contest, while posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll tote a 3.46 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 74/15 K/BB ratio (75 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Dodgers.
