      Javier Assad yielded three runs — two earned — in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Braves.

      Advice: This really should have been worse, considering that Assad gave up two homers and walked five batters. Still, his ERA remained intact at 1.70, and though he left with the Cubs down by a run, he avoided taking what would have been his first loss in 10 starts this year.       Assad allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and five walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Tuesday.

      Advice: Assad gave up a two-run home run to Orlando Arcia in the second inning and a solo shot to Michael Harris in the fourth. The five walks were also a season high, and it was the fourth time this season Assad has issued three or more free passes. For the season, he's at a 1.70 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 46:20 K:BB through 53 innings across 10 starts. He's had little trouble with the long ball this year, so it's safe to assume he'll continue to find success in run prevention if he can keep the ball down.     • Logan Webb let down by bullpen on Tuesday
      Logan Webb allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

      Advice: Webb left the game with a 5-2 lead and watched as the Giants blew a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth before losing in extra innings. Webb went back to a change-up-heavy approach on Tuesday, registering just a 17 percent whiff rate but a 28 percent CSW. However, he also allowed an average exit velocity on contact of 96.7 mph and allowed 11 hard-hit baseballs. Lucky for him, just one of those went for extra bases and he was able to lower his ERA to 3.03 on the year. He has a solid start lined up against the Mets this weekend.       Diaz earned the save in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Padres, logging a strikeout and a walk in a scoreless inning.

      Advice: After issuing a leadoff walk to Jurickson Profar in the ninth, Diaz struck out Manny Machado before inducing a game-ending double play off the bat of Jake Cronenworth to close out the shutout victory. It's an encouraging bounce-back effort from Diaz, who'd allowed five runs (four earned) in his previous three appearances (2.1 innings) while taking a pair of losses and a blown save. The 27-year-old right-hander still sports a subpar 6.62 ERA with a 1.64 WHIP and 18:14 K:BB across 17.2 innings while going eight for 10 in save opportunities this season.       Alexis Díaz pitches a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 2-0 win over the Padres on Tuesday.

      Advice: Díaz walked one and struck out one and then induced a game-ending double play. The save was his eighth of the season in what has been a tough year for Diaz. The 27-year-old has a 6.62 ERA and has blown two saves. The good news is that he’s not allowing lots of hard contact, but the bad news is that his command has wavered, leading to an increased walk rate and a huge reduction in his swinging strike rate.       José Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a win over the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: Ramirez’s home run was a 380-foot shot off Adrian Houser at 101.5 mph off the bat for his 12th big fly of the season. He also added a two-out RBI double to give him 44 RBI on the season. The batting average may not be what fantasy managers are hoping for, but Ramirez is hitting the ball well and should be back to something resembling his usual triple slash in no time.       Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and an RBI double in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Mets.

      Advice: Ramirez extended Cleveland's lead to 3-0 in the third inning with a two-out double before cranking a two-run homer off Adrian Houser in the fifth, his 12th of the year. The 31-year-old Ramirez has gone 12-for-32 (.375) with three home runs and 13 RBI in his last eight contests.
