    • Teoscar Hernández wins Home Run Derby
Teoscar Hernández won the Home Run Derby on Monday, beating Bobby Witt Jr. 14-13 in the finals.

Advice: Witt came up just a few feet short on his final swing of going to a swing off. MLB’s new format tonight helped prevent any standout performances by adding a clock and a pitch limit, and Alec Bohm’s 21-homer showing as the very first batter in the first round actually ended up as the biggest number of the night. Still, it made for a close competition, and everything was very much in doubt until the very end. Hernández barely survived the semis after Bohm faltered on his final few swings and then edged Witt in the shorter final round. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago
    • Ketel Marte to lead off for NL All-Star squad
Ketel Marte will lead off for Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo in the NL All-Star lineup.

Advice: It’s a defensible choice, though Shohei Ohtani is right there, and Trea Turner and Christian Walker also might have been better options. Marte will be followed by Ohtani, Turner, Bryce Harper, William Contreras, Yelich, Alex Bohm, Teoscar Hernández and Jurickson Profar. Rotoworld Today, 1:15 pm

    • Ketel Marte’s grand slam not enough to beat Jays
Ketel Marte blasted a grand slam homer on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to power the Diamondbacks to victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Marte got the Diamondbacks’ offense started with a monstrous 443-foot (109.8 mph EV) grand slam as part of a seven-/run uprising off of Yusei Kikuchi in the fifth inning. He also had a pair of singles in the ballgame, finishing the day 3-for-5. The All-Star second baseman finishes the first half hitting .292/.362/.515 with 19 homers, 57 RBI and six stolen bases. • Not ready for start of second half
Manager Aaron Boone said that Stanton (hamstring) won't be reinstated from the 10-day injured list when the Yankees open their second-half schedule Friday versus the Rays, but the 34-year-old could be activated soon thereafter, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Additionally, the skipper said that the Yankees remain undecided on whether will need to complete a minor-league rehab assignment before returning from the IL. Stanton was placed on the IL on June 23 with a left hamstring strain and was projected to miss around four weeks, and that timeline still looks to be accurate now that he's hit the three-week mark in his recovery process. Stanton will continue his rehab program during the All-Star break and could bypass a rehab assignment if the Yankees feel comfortable with how his hamstring is responding to live batting practice and pregame running. Fantasy managers shouldn't plan on Stanton being available for the start of the four-game series with the Rays, but a return from the IL the week after looks realistic. • Xander Bogaerts collects RBI in loss to Braves
Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-4 and drove in a run as the Padres fell to the Braves in Sunday’s first half finale.

Advice: The Padres strung together three singles against Chris Sale in the opening inning, with Bogaerts’ knock plating Donovan Solano with the game’s first run. Bogaerts also led off the eighth inning with an infield single. He is now hitting .231/.274/.323 with four homers, 15 RBI and four stolen bases through his first 49 contests on the season. • José Ramírez goes hitless in loss
José Ramírez went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in a loss to the Rays on Sunday.

Advice: Ramírez was up in the ninth inning with two runners on, nobody out, and the Guardians down by two, but he popped up to the infield. The All-Star is now 11-for-51 in July (.216 average) with no home runs and just one RBI. It’s been a pretty brutal month, but there’s nothing much to do about it from a fantasy perspective. Ramírez is still having a solid all-around season, so you need to just keep him in your lineup and hope the All-Star break helps. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:02 pm
    • J.D. Martinez out of lineup Sunday vs. Rockies
J.D. Martinez is not in the starting lineup against the Rockies on Sunday.

Advice: Martinez will get an early start to his All-Star break with the day off. Pete Alonso is the designated hitter, Mark Vientos is the first baseman and Jose Iglesias will get the start at third base. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:33 am

    • Out of lineup Sunday
Martinez isn't in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup versus Colorado.

Advice: He'll begin the final game before the All-Star break on the bench while Pete Alonso gets a day out of the field as the Mets' designated hitter. Martinez went hitless while striking out five times in eight at-bats over the first two games of the series and is batting just .194 with a home run, four RBI and a 37.2 percent strikeout rate across 11 contests in July. • Gets aboard four times in win
Marte went 2-for-3 with two walks, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Marte earned his third multi-hit effort in his last four games. The second baseman is batting .297 (11-for-37) with three steals over 10 games in July as he continues to provide well-rounded offensive production from the top-third of the order. Overall, Marte has 18 home runs, six steals, 53 RBI, 63 runs scored and a .288/.359/.506 slash line across 404 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:46 pm
