    • Blasts seventh homer
Ward went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Ward followed up Mike Trout's solo homer in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run shot of his own just two batters later, bringing the Angels back within three runs of Baltimore. The outfielder now has five homers and 19 RBI in April, though he's gone just 4-for-26 (.153) at the plate over his last seven games. He's also failed to register multiple hits in any game over that stretch. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago
    • Contributes solo shot
Altuve went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Wednesday in a loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Altuve launched a solo blast off closer Hector Neris in the ninth inning to bring the Astros to within a run, but the team ultimately fell short. The long ball was Altuve's sixth of the season, though he has only eight RBI. The star second baseman is otherwise having a fantastic campaign, slashing .350/.412/.602 with 17 runs and three stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:15 pm
    • Struggles with power
Ryan (1-1) picked up the win Wednesday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Although Ryan only gave up four hits on the day, three of them went for extra bases, including solo homers to Kevin Pillar and Korey Lee. Ryan has been tagged for three or more earned runs in three of his five starts this season but boasts an incredible 38:4 K:BB and a 1.01 WHIP in 28.2 innings. He's tentatively lined up for a rematch with the White Sox on Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:25 pm

    • Jose Altuve goes deep in Astros’ loss to Cubs
Jose Altuve belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Astros’ loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Altuve took former teammate Héctor Neris deep in the ninth inning for his sixth round-tripper of the season. It was the first time he’s left the yard since a two-homer outburst back on April 14. The veteran second baseman has been one of the most impactful five-category contributors in the entire fantasy landscape this season, batting .350 (36-for-103) with 17 runs scored, six homers, eight RBI and three steals through 25 games. • Joe Ryan strikes out eight in win over White Sox
Joe Ryan allowed three runs with eight strikeouts across six innings in a win over the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Ryan retired the first six batters, striking out the side in the first. Kevin Pillar led off the third inning with a solo homer to put the White Sox on the board. Korey Lee followed two batters later with another solo blast. Ryan put two runners on in the fifth and a run would come in on a double steal of home. The 27-year-old right-hander completed six frames to earn his first win, striking out eight on 19 whiffs. Ryan will take a 3.77 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and a 38/4 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 innings into another start against the White Sox in Chicago on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:25 pm

    • William Contreras leads Brewers past Pirates
William Contreras went 3-for-4 with a walk, run scored and an RBI on Wednesday night, leading the Brewers to a 3-2 victory over the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Advice: Contreras hit out of the leadoff spot for the Brewers on Wednesday and reached base in four of his five plate appearances. He opened the scoring in the game with an RBI single off of Luis Ortiz in the third inning, then trotted home as Blake Perkins worked a bases-loaded walk. With his three-hit attack, the 26-year-old backstop is slashing a sizzling .359/.439/.543 with four homers, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored and a stolen base through his first 23 games. • Hits bench for second straight
Siri is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: Siri missed time over the weekend after he was in considerable pain due to a kidney stone, but he rejoined the lineup for Monday's 7-1 loss to Detroit, starting in center field while going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts. According to Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun, Siri still hadn't passed the kidney stone as of Monday, so the Rays could be electing to limit him out of an abundance of caution while he's still dealing with some bodily discomfort. Though he's out of the lineup for a second straight day, Siri should still be available off the bench. He entered Tuesday's 4-2 loss as a late-inning defensive replacement and struck out in his lone plate appearance. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:28 pm
    • Placed on IL with lat tightness
The Red Sox placed Bello on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right lat tightness.

Advice: Manager Alex Cora said that Bello felt discomfort following his most recent start Friday, but the team is optimistic the right-hander will be ready to return after the minimum 15 days, per Pete Abraham of The Boston GlobeKutter Crawford up a day to start the series finale in Cleveland on regular rest. • Red Sox place Brayan Bello (lat) on 15-day IL
Red Sox placed RHP Brayan Bello on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 21, with right lat tightness.

Advice: The hits keep on coming for the Red Sox as their young ace will be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. Bello has allowed two or fewer runs in four of his five starts and threw at least seven strikeouts in his last two starts this season. It’s a tough pill to swallow for Boston as the team leaned on Bello as they manage injuries to its rotation, but now he’s a part of that issue for manager Alex Cora and his roster.
