      Advice: Josh Lowe is starting in center field in his first game off the IL, but Jonny DeLuca will shift to center field and bat 9th. Both DeLuca and Siri are right-handed hitters and are facing a right-handed pitcher, so this seems like a sign that DeLuca could get a real shot to take the Rays’ center field job. Siri’s playing time had always been linked to his strong defense; however, DeLuca is also a strong defensive outfielder and might have more offensive upside. The Rays certainly like him since they made him part of the return from the Dodgers in the Tyler Glasnow trade this offseason.       Fried (2-1) took the loss Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over seven innings.

      Advice: Fried quickly surrendered a two-run homer to Shohei Ohtani in the opening frame. He was able to settle in thereafter, blanking the Dodgers over the next four innings before Teoscar Hernandez got a hold of one in the sixth to make it a 4-0 ballgame. Sunday was Fried's first outing this year giving up multiple home runs, but he's also gone at least six innings in three straight while striking out at least six in all three appearances. The 30-year-old owns a 4.23 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 32:14 K:BB in 38.1 innings thus far and lines up to face the Mets in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:18 am
       
    • Bests Atlanta for fourth win
      Paxton (4-0) earned the win over Atlanta on Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 6.2 innings.

      Advice: The only real damage against Paxton came from a solo home run to Marcell Ozuna in the seventh. Paxton put together his most efficient outing of the year, needing only 84 pitches to get 20 outs, as his two walks were his fewest in a start since April 8. Paxton's strikeout numbers remain significantly lower compared to his career numbers, but he's still finding ways to grind out results.
