    • Logs hit in return
Seager went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Seager, who had been dealing with a wrist injury, was a late addition to the starting lineup and was back at his normal shortstop position, batting second. He had missed the previous two games after getting hit by a pitch on the left wrist last Saturday. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

    • Kodai Senga strikes out six in first rehab start
Kodai Senga (shoulder) recorded six strikeouts over 2 2/3 perfect innings on Wednesday in a minor league rehab start for High-A Brooklyn.

Advice: Things went swimmingly for Senga in his long-awaited return to game action as he threw 35 pitches (25 strikes) and fanned six of the nine batters he faced. The 31-year-old righty, who has been on the shelf since spring training due to a shoulder issue, will need several additional rehab outings before he’s ready to make his season debut. He’ll progress to facing some higher level minor-league hitters in the near future. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    • Logan Gilbert gives up four runs in loss
Logan Gilbert allowed four runs with six strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Gilbert worked through two quiet innings against the Orioles before things unraveled a bit in the third. He walked two batters to put a pair of runners on for Ryan O’Hearn, who doubled to put the Orioles on the board with two runs. Ryan Mountcastle singled to make it a three run game before Gilbert struck out the final batter to escape the frame. He surrendered one more run on a solo homer by O’Hearn in the fifth and recorded one out in the sixth before his day was done. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 2.91 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 108/24 K/BB ratio across 117 2/3 innings into a start against the Padres in San Diego on Tuesday. • Smashes homer Wednesday
Bohm went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Bohm was named the National League's All-Star starter at third base earlier in the day, and his performance Wednesday was a good example of what he can do. He's up to 11 homers on the year, with five of them coming over his last 15 games. The 27-year-old has added a .299/.351/.494 slash line, 70 RBI, 40 runs scored, four stolen bases, 28 doubles and a triple over 84 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:28 pm

    • Alec Bohm launches two run homer in win over Cubs
Alec Bohm went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Wednesday, leading the Phillies to a 5-3 victory over the Cubs.

Advice: Just a few hours after being named to the National League’s starting third baseman for the upcoming Midsummer Classic, the first All-Star Game selection of his career, Bohm took Cubs ace Shota Imanaga deep for a two-run blast -- his 11th round-tripper of the season -- to help the Phillies to a late-inning comeback victory. The 27-year-old slugger is in the midst of the best season of his career by a considerable margin, batting .299 with 40 runs scored, 11 homers, 70 RBI and four steals through 84 games. • Corey Seager added to Rangers lineup on Wednesday
Corey Seager (hand) was added to the Rangers’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Padres.

Advice: As manager Bruce Bochy had alluded to earlier in the day, Seager checked out good and was a late addition to the Rangers’ lineup. Jonathan Ornelas — who had been scheduled to start at third base — was scratched from the lineup with Josh Smith shifting back from shortstop to third base. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:51 pm

    • Returns to lineup Wednesday
Seager (wrist) is starting at shortstop and batting second in Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Seager missed the last two games after being struck in the left wrist by a pitch Saturday against Baltimore. He was originally slated to begin Wednesday's game in the dugout, but Seager will return to the starting lineup, bumping Josh Smith to third base and Jonathan Ornelas to the bench. • Progressing, could play Wednesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (wrist) is feeling "a lot better" and will talk with the shortstop to see if he's doing well enough to play Wednesday against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 30-year-old is currently absent from Texas' starting nine for Wednesday's contest, but there's apparently a chance he's a late addition to the lineup. Regardless of whether or not Seager ends up starting the game, it's an encouraging development for his availability going forward. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:26 pm
