    • Kyle Tucker (shin) remains out Friday vs. Angels
Kyle Tucker (shin) is not in the starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Tucker will miss a third straight game while dealing with the shin contusion that he picked up Monday. The outfielder is considered day-to-day with a good chance to return to the lineup against the Halos before the end of the weekend. Trey Cabbage is starting in Tucker’s place. • Contreras (forearm) expects to return before July
Willson Contreras told reporters that he expects to return from his forearm injury before July.

Advice: When asked if he could return as a designated hitter instead of a backstop, Contreras answered with a convincing “hell no.” The backstop did say a return against Chicago next week seemed a little fast ,but he does appear like he’ll beat his All-Star game timeline. Contreras wouldn’t offer a progression update, but everything here points to a return at some point in late June. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    • Still out Friday
Tucker (lower leg) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Angels, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Tucker will miss a third straight start Friday after bruising his right shin Monday against the Cardinals when he fouled a ball off his lower leg. With Tucker beginning Friday's contest in the dugout, Trey Cabbage will start in right field and bat ninth against Angels right-hander Griffin Canning. Rotowire.com Today, 3:57 pm

    • Stays hot in win
Marte went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Thursday's 4-3 win over San Diego.

Advice: Marte delivered the go-ahead run in the seventh inning when his two-out single plated Corbin Carroll. Marte has rebounded nicely from an 0-for-22 skid in late May, going 11-for-28 (.393) with two home runs, two doubles, six RBI and five runs scored over the last eight contests. The Diamondbacks' offense could get a boost if the struggling Carroll can build off his three-hit performance Thursday, which would give Marte more run-producing opportunities. • Records save Thursday
Holmes earned a save against the Twins on Thursday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Holmes gave up a one-out single after entering the game in the ninth frame, but that's all Minnesota managed against him. The talented closer has held opponents without an earned run in 27 of his 28 appearances this season, resulting in an excellent 1.32 ERA. Holmes ranks third in the majors with 18 saves (in 21 chances) on the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 pm

    • Holmes picks up 18th save against Twins
Clay Holmes tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: The save was Holmes’ 18th of the season. He has allowed an earned run in only one of 28 appearances this year. Holmes has been fabulous with a 1.32 ERA and 28 strikeouts on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:24 pm

    • Torres drives in two in win Thursday
Gleyber Torres went 1-for-4 with a two-run double against the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Torres gave the Yankees a 4-2 lead with a two-run double with the bases loaded in the third inning. He’s up to 21 RBI on the season now, but he has five RBI in his last three games. Maybe this is the start of Torres turning it around at the plate as he’s hitting .232 in his last season before heading to free agency. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:21 pm

    • MRI reveals bone spur in Joe Musgrove’s elbow
Joe Musgrove underwent an MRI that revealed a bone spur and contusion in his right elbow.

Advice: Musgrove, who landed on the injured list last weekend with right elbow inflammation, received both a PRP and cortisone injections to address the issue and hopes to resume throwing in roughly two weeks. The 31-year-old righty told reporters arthroscopic surgery is possible if the issue doesn’t improve, but that’s not being considered as an option for now. He’ll go the rest-and-rehabilitation route in an effort to get back on the mound for San Diego in a couple weeks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:45 pm

    • Diagnosed with bone spur
Musgrove has been diagnosed with a bone spur and a bone bruise in his right elbow, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Musgrove got PRP and cortisone injections with the hope of resuming throwing in two weeks. However, there is also the caveat that surgery will be required if healing does not occur. That leaves Musgrove's potential timeline to return to the mound unclear, though it would be surprising to see him back on the mound prior to the All-Star break based on this most recent news.
