    • Closing in on obscure record
India went 1-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 2-0 loss to St. Louis.

Advice: India ripped a third-inning double, the eighth consecutive game with a two-bagger for the second baseman. That's a franchise record and one off the MLB record of nine, set by Toronto's Bo Bichette in 2019. The double also extended a hit streak to 12 games, during which India is batting .489 (22-for-45) with 12 doubles, a home run, six RBI, two steals and 10 additional runs scored. • Extends hit streak to 11 games
India went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: India hit an RBI double and scored in the second inning and then added another RBI double in the seventh. The second baseman is on fire, hitting safely in 11 consecutive games and registering multiple hits in eight straight. He has increased his average to .279 with five home runs, 34 RBI, 38 runs scored and eight steals over 311 plate appearances this season. The 27-year-old will likely continue to hit leadoff until TJ Friedl (hamstring) returns from the injured list. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:45 pm

    • Jonathan India collects two hits in win over Cards
Jonathan India went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run scored, and two RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: India put the Reds on the board in the third inning with a double to plate Austin Wynns from second base. He then scored on a double by Elly De La Cruz. He later doubled for a second time to drive in one more run in the seventh. The 27-year-old second baseman has had an incredible month, hitting .386 in June. He’s hitting .279/.383/.408 with five homers, 38 runs scored, 34 RBI, and eight steals across 311 plate appearances on the season. Rotoworld Saturday, 2:26 pm

    • Ankle injury not considered serious
Manager Oliver Marmol said Saturday that Edman (wrist) was able to field grounders again Friday without any problems with his sprained ankle, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Marmol added that Edman remains on track to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield or Triple-A Memphis sometime next week, barring any setbacks. The 29-year-old infielder has spent all season on the injured list, so an extended stint in the minors will likely be necessary, though it's still possible he'll be able to rejoin the big-league club before the All-Star break. • Tommy Edman (wrist, ankle) nears rehab assignment
Tommy Edman (wrist, ankle) is expected to progress to a minor league rehab assignment at some point next week.

Advice: Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol told reporters Edman fielded grounders on Friday without any ankle issues, and will progress to a rehab assignment with either Double-A Springfield or Triple-A Memphis in the coming days, assuming he gets through the rest of the weekend without a setback. The 29-year-old center fielder is working his way back from offseason wrist surgery and figures to be ready to return at some point in July. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:35 am

    • Jonathan India stays hot with two more hits in loss
Jonathan India went 2-for-4 with an RBI double on Wednesday in the Reds’ loss to the Pirates.

Advice: India was responsible for manufacturing Cincinnati’s lone extra-base hit and run of the contest on Wednesday afternoon as they were unable to solve Luis Ortiz over six frames to open the game before relievers Kyle Nicolas and Aroldis Chapman came out of the bullpen to slam the door. It’s flown a bit under the radar, but India is playing some of the best ball of his career at the moment, batting .365 (35-for-96) with three homers, 20 RBI and four steals over his last 30 games. • Tommy Edman (wrist) shut down with ankle sprain
Tommy Edman, who is working his way back from wrist surgery, suffered a sprained ankle while taking grounders on Tuesday.

Advice: It sounds like this could be a real setback for Edman, but we’ll know more later. Edman appeared to be getting fairly close to beginning a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:30 am
