    • Retreating to bench Thursday
Urias is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Urias had started in each of the past four games, but two came while Jorge Mateo was on the 7-day injured list and one came while Jordan Westburg received a rest day. Mateo and Westburg are both in the lineup Thursday and are slated to serve as the Orioles' primary starters at second base and third base, respectively, so Urias' opportunities could become more limited moving forward. • Swipes first bag
Walls went 0-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored Wednesday against the Cubs.

Advice: Walls has started five of six games since being activated from the injured list, though he's collected just two hits in 14 at-bats. Positively, he stole his first base of the season Wednesday, suggesting he'll still be willing to run even after returning from a serious hip injury. Rotowire.com Today, 7:02 am

    • Sitting against left-hander
Keith is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Southpaw Patrick Corbin is on the bump for the Nationals, so the left-handed-hitting Keith will begin the contest on the bench. Andy Ibanez will handle second base for the Tigers. Rotowire.com Today, 6:59 am

    • Getting looks at third base
Caballero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday against the Cubs.

Advice: Caballero has lost some playing time since the return of Taylor Walls, though he's still started four of the last six games. He's made starts at second base, third base and shortstop and looks set to settle into a utility role for the Rays. Caballero has also been productive of late, hitting two home runs and swiping three bags across his last 10 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:51 am

    • Goes yard twice in win
Solano went 2-for-4 with two home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the A's.

Advice: All the Padres' offense came from long balls, with Solano supplying a solo shot off Hogan Harris in the second inning and a two-run homer off Lucas Erceg in the eighth. Solano's only other home run this season came May 27, but during that 16-game stretch he's slashing .315/.367/.519 with seven runs and nine RBI while filling in as the starting third baseman for a banged-up Manny Machado. • Twins option slumping Kirilloff to Triple-A
Twins optioned 1B Alex Kirilloff to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Kirilloff got off to a strong start in April, but he faded quickly and was hitting .135/.207/.284 in his last 30 games. Edouard Julien has remained ice cold in Triple-A, so he’s unlikely to be the countermove here. That probably leaves Matt Wallner or Austin Martin. Wallner has turned things around lately, but Martin has the better Triple-A numbers and has more to offer defensively. Rotoworld Today, 6:37 am

    • Makes history with walk-off homer
Merrill went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the A's.

Advice: The rookie center fielder took Hogan Harris deep in the fifth inning, setting the stage for Merrill to play hero by ripping a slider from Mason Miller down the right-field line in the bottom of the ninth for his first career walk-off homer. In the process, Merrill become the youngest player in Padres history with a walk-off blast, and the youngest player in MLB history with a two-homer game that included a walk-off shot. The 21-year-old snapped a 26-game homer drought with the performance, and he's been heating up in June, batting .355 (11-for-31) over the last eight contests with four doubles, two steals, four RBI and five runs. • Dispatched to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Kirilloff to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Kirilloff will head to Triple-A in order to get back on track after going 2-for-21 with nine strikeouts since the beginning of June, bringing his season slash line down to .201/.270/.384 through 178 plate appearances. The Twins have not yet announced a corresponding move for Kirilloff's demotion, but his absence will likely result in more time in left field for Trevor Larnach and more time at first base for Carlos Santana. • Jackson Merrill slugs walk-off homer to sink A’s
Jackson Merrill blasted two solo homers, including a game-winning blast in the ninth inning, powering the Padres to a 5-4 walk-off victory over the Athletics.

Advice: Merrill took Athletics fire-balling closer Mason Miller deep into the right-field corner for his fifth round-tripper of the season to send the Friars faithful home in walk-off fashion. The 21-year-old rookie center fielder also took Oakland starter Hogan Harris deep in the fifth inning as part of his first career multi-homer performance. He’s caught fire over the last few weeks, batting .294 (30-for-105) with three homers and five steals over his past 30 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:27 pm
