      Justin Steele gave up two runs over 6 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Giants.

      Advice: Steele carried a shutout into the fifth inning before backup catcher Curt Casali delivered a game-tying two-run double, which was enough to extinguish any chance of picking up a win since Chicago’s offense didn’t pull ahead until the eighth inning. He generated 14 swinging strikes, with 13 of them coming on his four-seam fastball/slider combo, and finished with a 31 percent CSW. Megill has a save in six straight outings and he's converted his last eight chances. Megill came in with the tying run at the plate and gave up a long flyball to Taylor Ward that Sal Frelick made a jumping catch on at the wall. Statcast said it would have been a homer in zero of MLB’s 30 stadiums, but it did look like it would have gotten over the wall in Angel Stadium if Frelick hadn’t gotten in the way. Aside from a three-run misstep in Pittsburgh on June 6, Phillips has pitched well since his return from a hamstring injury.
