    • Alec Bohm goes 4-for-4 as cleanup man
Alec Bohm finished 4-for-4 with two RBI and a walk against the Reds on April 26 on Wednesday.

Advice: It’s worth wondering if the Phillies might have another win or two if they had just left Bohm in cleanup spot, which is where he finished last year, to begin this season. He’s batting .337.430/.558 in 100 plate appearances. He did hit cleanup tonight, though that’s probably just because usual cleanup man J.T. Realmuto had the night off. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:57 pm

    • Grabs fifth save
Diaz earned the save in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Phillies, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning.

Advice: After allowing three runs and blowing a save in his first outing this year, Diaz has converted his subsequent five save opportunities, allowing just one run while striking out 10 over his last nine appearances. His ERA is down to 3.48 with a 1.16 WHIP across 10.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:13 pm
    • Reynaldo López twirls seven-inning gem vs. Fish
Reynaldo López allowed one run over seven innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: López authored yet another dominant performance, this time against a floundering Marlins lineup, piling up six strikeouts and only allowing five baserunners over seven frames. Yet, he was forced to settle for a no-decision after Atlanta’s bullpen coughed up a two-run lead in the ninth inning. The 30-year-old converted reliever has been a revelation this season, allowing one earned run or fewer and completing six frames in four consecutive starts to kick off his Braves debut. He’ll bring a microscopic 0.72 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 24/8 K/BB ratio across 25 innings (four starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the Mariners in Seattle. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:30 pm
    • Blown save spoils would-be win
Lopez didn't factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks across seven innings against Miami. He struck out six.

Advice: Lopez delivered another quality start Wednesday, exiting the contest with Atlanta ahead 3-1. However, Raisel Iglesias surrendered a pair of runs in the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings, spoiling Lopez's chance at a third straight win. Lopez has been one of the more surprising stars of the 2024 campaign, owning a 0.72 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in four starts (25.0 innings). He's slated to make his next start in Seattle during a three-game series early next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:21 pm
    • Jhoan Duran to make another rehab outing on Friday
Jhoan Duran (oblique) will make another appearance in a minor league rehab game on Friday.

Advice: Duran looked electric in his first appearance at Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, despite allowing a pair of runs on four hits. He also struck out three batters, fired 15 of his 27 pitches for strikes and averaged 98.1 mph on his heater. If all goes well with Friday’s outing, he could then be cleared to rejoin the Twins’ bullpen. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:27 pm

    • Another rehab outing on tap
Duran (oblique) is scheduled for a second rehab appearance with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: According to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com, the right-hander averaged 98.1 mph with his fastball -- down a couple ticks from the usual triple digits -- and surrendered two runs on four hits over one inning during Tuesday's rehab outing, but he felt fine physically during and after the appearance. Duran said he dealt with some mechanical issues during spring training that affected his velocity, and it's possible those problems flared up again. It's unclear how many rehab outings the Twins are looking for, but the 26-year-old could return within the next week if he continues to progress with no issues. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:33 pm

    • Hit with tough loss
Montgomery (1-1) took the loss against the Cardinals on Wednesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking one and striking out four over seven innings.

Advice: Montgomery kept the Cardinals' lineup at bay for most of the contest despite allowing the leadoff man to reach base in three of his first four innings of work. St. Louis would finally get to him in the sixth, however, after the lefty allowed back-to-back hits with one out, followed by an unearned run on a wild pitch. Montgomery actually pitched well on the afternoon despite being tagged with the loss, throwing 20 of his first 28 pitches for strikes while going at least six innings for the second consecutive start to begin his 2024 campaign. He also carries a solid 7:1 K:BB through two starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:26 pm
    • Jordan Montgomery goes seven against Cardiansl
Jordan Montgomery yielded three runs — two earned — in seven innings Wednesday in a loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Montgomery cruised through five innings before giving up three hits and two runs in the sixth. The unearned run came after a Blaze Alexander error in the seventh. Montgomery struck out four and walked one in the efficient 87-pitch outing. He’ll take on the Dodgers next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:02 pm
    • Another multi-hit game
Bohm went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in Tuesday's 8-1 loss to the Reds.

Advice: Bohm was the lone Phillie with more than one hit and drove in their lone run Tuesday with a two-out double off Andrew Abbott in the opening frame. The 27-year-old Bohm has now hit safely in seven straight games, going 12-for-26 in that span, while recording multiple hits in four of his last five contests. He's boosted his slash line to .305/.400/.524 with three homers, seven doubles and 19 RBI through his first 95 plate appearances while batting in the middle of a potent Philadelphia lineup.
