      Advice: Both Lopez and Tarik Skubal allowed seven hits in this one, but every one López surrendered was a single and they were all spread out; he allowed one each in the first three innings and two apiece in the fourth and fifth.       David Bednar hurled a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Reds to record his 16th save of the season.

      Advice: Bednar got the call to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and needed just 11 pitches (eight strikes) to set down the heart of Cincinnati’s lineup. He got Elly De La Cruz to pop up and Spencer Steer to fly out before coaxing a game-ending fly out from Jake Fraley to slam the door. The 29-year-old righty has recorded saves on back-to-back days against the Reds after suffering a blown save last Friday against the Rockies in his previous appearance. The 27-year-old sports a lopsided .216/.296/.446 slash line on the season with 11 homers, 35 RBI and 40 runs in 69 contests, but his .742 OPS still provides a significant improvement on the Blue Jays' other option in center field, Kevin Kiermaier (.545 OPS).       Even though the team is facing left-hander Tarik Skubal, Jarred Kelenic remains in the leadoff spot for the Braves on Wednesday.

      Advice: For better or worse, Brian Snitker loves his set lineups. Kelenic has a .231 OBP in just 26 plate appearances versus lefties this season. He’s hit .193/.253/.307 lifetime against lefties, and it’s safe to say he hasn’t faced many as good as Skubal.       Advice: Turner's absence for Wednesday's day game is likely part of a predetermined maintenance plan for the veteran shortstop, who returned from a six-week stay on the 10-day injured list Monday. The 30-year-old exhibited no apparent signs of being nagged by his left hamstring while starting Monday and Tuesday and going 3-for-10 with a run scored between those contests.
