    • Ha-Seong Kim swats two-run homer vs. Rockies
Ha-Seong Kim hit a two-run homer Thursday against the Rockies while going 1-for-4.

Advice: Kim swatted a two-run homer in the third inning, and it’s the fourth homer of the season for the shortstop. The 28-year-old has shown some pop in the early portion of the season, and he’s also added seven stolen bases for good measure. The .240 average leaves a bit to be desired, for those looking for something to complain about. Rotoworld Today, 3:17 pm

    • Locks down eighth save
Clase earned the save Thursday against the Red Sox, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: It's the fifth straight scoreless outing from Clase -- he's allowed just one hit while striking out eight in his last five innings. Overall, the right-hander is 8-for-10 in save chances this year with a stellar 0.69 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 14:1 K:BB over 13 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 1:50 pm
    • Clase locks down 8th save of the season
Emmanuel Clase threw a scoreless ninth inning in a 6-4 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Clase struck out one and didn’t allow a baserunner in his one inning of work. He now has eight saves and a 0.69 ERA on the season. Considering how well the Guardians have been playing but that their offense doesn’t usually blow opponents out, Clase should be in line for quite a few save opportunities this season. • Gets Thursday off
Outman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: With the Dodgers and Nationals concluding their series with a day game after a night game and with southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the bump for Washington, Outman is one of three lefty-hitting regulars who will get the afternoon off. Outman will be joined on the bench by Gavin Lux and Max Muncy. Rotowire.com Today, 10:58 am

    • Hits bench again Thursday
Abreu is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Abreu is on the bench for the third time in four games, with Jon Singleton getting the nod at first base in his place. It's clear at this point that Abreu's standing atop the depth chart is on thin ice, as the 37-year-old has followed up a disappointing 2023 campaign with an even more disastrous start to the 2024 season, as he's slashing .065/.132/.081 with a career-worst 25 percent strikeout rate across 68 plate appearances. First base/outfield prospect Joey Loperfido has gotten off to a hot start to the season at Triple-A Sugar Land and could soon be summoned to the big leagues if the Astros aren't confident in Abreu's ability to stage a turnaround and/or if Singleton proves to be a poor replacement for Abreu. • Lasts just four innings in loss
Miller (3-2) took the loss against Texas on Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over four-plus innings.

Advice: Miller made it through three scoreless frames before the Rangers got to him for a pair of solo homers in the fourth. The right-hander did come back out to the mound for the fifth frame, but he was pulled after issuing a leadoff walk, having thrown 83 pitches to that point. Miller's three-game quality start streak was thus snapped, as was his three-game win streak. He'll try to get back on track the next time he takes the mound, which lines up for early next week versus Atlanta. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:25 pm
    • Bryce Miller inefficient in loss to Rangers
Bryce Miller allowed two runs with five strikeouts over four innings in a loss against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Miller worked around two walks in the first inning, striking out the side. He tossed two more scoreless innings before Adolis García and Evan Carter went back-to-back for a pair of solo homers in the fourth. Two more runners would reach in the inning on a walk and a base hit before Miller could escape the frame. He’d be done after four on 83 pitches, walking a season-high four batters while striking out five. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 2.22 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a 29/11 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings. Miller is in line for a tough matchup against the Braves in Seattle on Monday. • Ha-Seong Kim drives in two runs against Rockies
Ha-Seong Kim went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday in a 5-2 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Kim put the Padres on the board early with a two-run double in the first inning. He’d come around to score on a base hit as San Diego put four runs up in the opening frame. He added a base hit in the sixth for his second hit of the game. The 28-year-old infielder is slashing .240/.345/.417 with three homers, 16 runs scored, 15 RBI, and seven steals across 114 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm

    • Dansby Swanson hits first homer since April 8
Dansby Swanson slugged a three-run homer on Wednesday, propelling the Cubs to a 4-3 victory over the Astros.

Advice: Swanson connected for a tone-setting homer off Astros rookie right-hander Spencer Arrighetti as part of Chicago’s four-run opening frame, which wound up being enough offense for Jameson Taillon and a quartet of Cubs relievers. It was his third long ball of the season and first time he’s gone deep since April 8. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:52 pm
